Digital camera reviews of Cisco-Linksys EtherFast Cable/DSL Router with 4-Port 10/100 Switch

Digital camera Review: AWSOME! Very easy to install and use.
Summary: 5 Stars

Ok, this item was referred to me by a friend. I'm not a Linksysemployee or shareholder or anything. (I'm just a network guy with animpartial opinion.) Anyway, I saw that it was a dhcp server AND client, router, firewall, switched hub and allowed for the cascading of hubs in support of 253 users: All for $158! Here's what it takes to set it up. 1. Unpack the item and shut down your computers. (Well, I guess you could do a release/renew to just get a new IP address from the router.) 2. Unplug your systems from your hub or whatever and plug them into the Linksys router. You can probably also use a crossover cable to connect your existing hub right to the "uplink" port on the back. (Which is how you can cascade hubs to get up to 253 users. Amazing.) 3. Anyway, power up your computers and be sure they are using DHCP. 4. That's all I did.

You simply open a browser window and go to http://192.168.1.1 and there you have a nice browser window to configure the details.

Anyway, check it out. It's cheap and easy to use. =D

Digital camera Review: Access Point
Summary: 1 Stars

The setup was easy. Configured the PC next to the access point device. Then moved it to the room it was intended to be housed....about 50 feet away from the access point. Now it has very little signal strength. Won't even bring up a web page... My house has standard walls etc. Nothing that should affect the RF to that degree. This product is useless to me...

Digital camera Review: Accuracy a plus
Summary: 5 Stars

I have a friend who bought one, he loves it. My note is for the "Editor" - FYI... A T-1 runs at EXACTLY 1.544Mbps, with 1.536Mbps being the usable bandwidth for data. It doesn't "max out between 1.5 and 3Mbps".

Digital camera Review: Affordable Networking
Summary: 4 Stars

This is a good affordable router - nothing special but works very well and easy to use - It does have some more advanced features in a seperate area of the control browswer.

If you would like to start home networking this is a great starter product. It offers security and affordability.

I give it four starts because there are many routers on the marker of higher quality than this one. But for what this router is - it is great

Digital camera Review: After 2 I give up
Summary: 1 Stars

I'm attempting to put a dent in the ratings and persuade others not to buy this product. I've had 2 of these, replaced the initial one a year ago after talking to Linksys and determining that it had malfunctioned. I purchased a D-link EBR-2310 a month ago and after installing it (5 minutes) I haven't touched it. The second Linksys I had to reboot every few days, sometimes twice a day. My fastest internet speed tests were plus 10Mb, and after a day or so my bandwidth would degrade and come to a crawl (300Kb). It was so frustrating.

The Linksys wave has crashed, get on a different one. I've gone through 2 Access Points, 2 Range Extenders and now 2 Routers by Linksys. I'm fed up with their products.
