Digital camera Review: Amazing! Set up in 3 minutes!

I just moved into a new place and got a cable modem (Surfboard). Previously, my computer and the one that was here already both had dialup connections. One is XP Home and the other XP Pro. They both had network cards but they weren't used until now. First I set up the cable modem on the other computer. All was well and I decided to share the connection with my computer. So I picked this router up (and a $10 rebate too). Installation went like this:
1. Powered everything down.
2. Opened box, rummaged around.
3. Took plug from original computer and put in router (in "Internet" spot).
4. Took included network cable and plugged into computer and into router (in one of the 4 spots).
5. Took network cable I had laying around (you will have to buy one for each computer/laptop you want to connect if you don't have it!!!) and plugged into my computer.
6. Powered up everything.
7. Grabbed the manual to see what was next while the Windows'es loaded. Looked up and noticed the icon on both PC's "acquiring network address". When that went away, checked websites - VIOLA! I didn't have to do anything else!
And I thought I'd be at this all day. I love this thing ;) I imagine it would be more difficult to set up on Windows 98 (ugh) but with 2 Win XP's it was a breeze.

The Linksys router out of the box was faulty.It took 2 days of constant calling to get Linksys
tech support, all to tell me the unit was no good.
I e-mailed Amazon for a replacement. It took them 3
days to reply. "We will send a mailer for it's return."
That was 16 days ago and I've seen nothing. ... Amazon should stick to books.
Customers should buy their hard goods locally.

This is a superb product and it works like a charm on the Telstra Australia ADSL connection. Highly recommended even if you don't have a network because it gives you hardware firewall protection. It is a simpler solution than a software proxy server or such. One caution though, I have had it working for a couple of months now and, like some others who have reviewed this unit, it has 'hung' a few times. I'm still very happy with it but I'm also keeping an eye on it.Digital camera Review: An Excellent Product So Far!

While I have not had this product for long, the results have been excellent.
The BEFSR41 is an easy-to-install product - my employer's tech suppport folks were able to easily walk me through the installation process and so far have not experienced any glitches with the product. Additionally, it has been great not having to disconnect my PC to make a telephone call!
Granted, I am not a computer or DSL expert like several of the other reviewers are. However, the item is easy to install and lightweight.
Recommended.

This is my first DSL Router. It took a bit of experimenting to get it work with our protocols here in Israel - but when I got it up and running - it sings. It integrated beautifully with the existing networked computers and all of them now have full internet access.I would recommend this unit to all. I would also recommend buying it through Amazon. They had the best price, free shipping (within the US) and fast service. ... I swapped out the 110 volt power supply with a 220 volt unit and it works just fine.
