Digital camera reviews of Cisco-Linksys EtherFast Cable/DSL Router with 4-Port 10/100 SwitchDigital camera Review: 50 50 Chance of a Linksys product working Summary: 1 Stars
After many hours of working with Linksys techs to get a working router (unsucessfully), they sent me another one that did not work. Not worth the time spent to end up with something that doesn't work. I threw it away and bought another brand.
If you want to buy a product that works -- DO NOT DEPEND ON LINKSYS.

This has now been running for 8 years and it rarely gets turned off. Wish other things lasted this long.
Digital camera Review: A Beauty to behold Summary: 5 Stars
For a wired home network this is a must. If you have a cable modem or DSL modem and you use more than one computer this is a must. I have 2 desktops and 1 laptop hooked to my cable modem through this router. On the 4th port I installed the hawking print server and I'm all set!! All computers can be on the internet at the same time with super fast connection and with a print server I print directly to my printer from any machine in the house. No Problems. Things can't be this perfect in the home networking world. But thanks to Linksys it is. No, I don't work for the company. Just another internet junky, enjoying the age of technology.
Digital camera Review: A Caveat Summary: 3 Stars
Be sure you are shipped the latest version of this router. The full Linksys model number is "BEFSR41 ver X" where X is currently 1,2,3, or 4. The version is not listed on the box; only below the Linksys logo on a label attached to the bottom of the router case. Why is the router version important? One of the reasons I purchased this router was as a hardware firewall. For maximum protection, it's a very good idea to keep the router firmware updated. Unfortunately, the latest Linksys patches and security upgrades can not be applied to older versions of the BEFSR41. In my case I placed an order with Amazon.com on 9/25/05 and received ver 2 of this router, a version Linksys stop making late 2003 - early 2004. Version 4 of this router has been available since early this year. I'd given this router a higher rating if Amazon.com had sent me the current model!
Digital camera Review: A Few quirks Summary: 4 Stars
This product is very ez to setup and get going. However, I have run into a few problems with it and Linksys has a very very weak web site for support and help. Using PC anywhere makes the whole LAN hiccup and can only be fixed by resetting or powering down the router. Also, enabling a port for the a SQL server made the client access to the internet disappear. There needs to be more support for this crafty product. As more and more people move to a home network, the questions will arise, and Linksys needs to have the replies and resolve. This is a good product, however, it is a little buggy.JOHN CORIA
