I was amazed by how easy this router was to set up. I had never set one up before and with a quick phone call the Linksys's incredible tech support number I was up and running and feeling like a pro! I've had a network hub in my home for over a year, with a smattering of "project" computers -- a linux box, a windows 98 PC, a windows 95 laptop and a new PowerMac. I've had nothing but problems getting these very diverse machines to talk to one-another... until now.It was like magic. I plugged it in to my network hub, launched a web browser, and I was configured. It assigned IP addresses to everyone, and in the time it takes to reboot four computers, I was pinging, ftping and telnetting around my network without a problem. Now a once-unusable network of macintoshes, linuxes and windows pcs are talking to one-another over TCP/IP. It's a miracle!
What sold me on this was the built-in DHCP server. But what was nice when I took it home was the fact that the router has a little web server built-in for configuring the device and setting the many (and impressive) security options. This means there is no crazy platform-specific client software or drivers required -- all you need is a network card and a web browser to connect and configure yourself. Also, the manual is available, but all of the help I needed was right there within the administration UI of the device.
The story is not over yet -- I am now waiting for the Sprint people to come install my Cable access. More on that if I have troubles there, but for once in my life I am optimistic about a network installation.
I am very impressed. Thumbs up from me and my family of computers!

I love this router. I have owned it now for about a year and have had no problems with it. It was easy to setup. I ran cat 5 wire to all of the main rooms in my house and love the fact that I can plug in just about anywhere and surf the net. I have three desktop PCs plugged in continuously and also have a work laptop that I bring home and plug-in in the family room. It's great. I also have the Linksys Cable Modem with cable service via Knology. It's the only way to go. I have never had any problems with my broadband connection either. It has probably only been down 3 times in a year and a half, each time no more than an hour or two. Count me as a very happy Linksys customer. Also, a happy Amazon.com customer. I purchased both the Linksys router and the Linksys cable modem from Amazon.com.Digital camera Review: A must have

We finally went with broadband cable access and wanted to share the cable between an iMac and a Dell. I hooked everything up to a Linksys modem and router using Cat-5 cables and hit the power switch. That was it. The router pulled the IP addresses and we were on line in less than 10 minutes. I would suggest using a network card as the USB install seemed rather complex. I have no complaints with the router or modem.
