I just got these adapters because my wireless connection would just never be stable because of the house layout. They seem to be working fine for me but the configuration utility they give you just presents a grabled screen. The setup wizard was also bad and did not present clean screens. I had a live chat with a support person who said they had no known problems with the utility but they also did not have a current version on their website. If you need to do any configuration you are either going to have to be good at guessing or you or out of luck. This is a great item if your wireless network isn't cutting it! My office computer was just out of reach with a wireless setup so I installed a range expander which worked occasionally at best. This product gives me the same bps as the host computer and it is extremely easy to install and use. Just be certain that the wiring that you use is connected, plug it in to an outlet, plug it into the router and computers and you good to go. If you have been using wireless you may have to turn on your computers ethernet port. I am using a set of 7 LInksys PLA200's to provide very high speed internet service to 6 apartments in an old building in San Francisco. LInksys sells individual units as PLA200's and the kit of two is sold as a PLK200. The individual units are identical. The Linksys units synch up quickly and operate effectively over a wider range of outlets than the competing products I tried. The configuration utility only shows the device plugged into that computer. After over an hour on the phone to several foreign countries/persons, I was told that this device will only work if the two devices are plugged into the same electrical circuit and not going through a circuit breaker. I don't know if any homes in the US are running off of a "single circuit" but I don't think so.
I tried different wireless devices from Linksys (like the WRT300N) before buying these hoping that they will work were the wireless did not ... but it was a waste of money and time.
