Digital camera Review: Awesome for X-Box Live

The one obstacle that kept me on the fence in terms of deciding whether or not to purchase an X-Box Live Starter kit was the fact that I did NOT want cables running through my bedroom into my living room in order to connect my X-Box to my cable modem. The Linksys Wet11 Wireless Bridge was the answer to all my concerns. This smart little piece of hardware was very simple to install. All you do is attach it to your PC or laptop and load up the starter disk. From there it self-configures matching the settings of your wireless router (in my case I'm using the BEFW11S4 v2). Then you detach it from your PC and attach it to the X-Box or whatever ethernet hardware you need to use. I do hear that it works equally well with Playstation 2. Setup time was about 20 minutes. I then popped the X-Box Live disk into the X-Box and was able to sign in easily. The connection has been fast enough to maintain connections to X-Box live without any lag in gameplay.
The Wet11 is a nifty little product that works great for me. Look, Ma, X-box Live with NO WIRES!

We've used this device to connect our Turtle Beach Audiotron MP3 player, as well as our SonicBlue ReplayTV unit to the wireless network that is connected to the broadband connection. We would like to use this for our PS2 but can't find the network adapter anywhere.I've also heard that it works great with the Xbox. If you have any of these devices (anything with an Ethernet port), get one of these to connect to your wireless network without having to run cables.
The device is extremely easy to set up, it takes less than five minutes to get everything running. Since this has come out I've seen wireless bridge's like this from two other networking companies, but I still love the Linksys.

I use my WET11 with both my XBox live and Turtle Beach Audiotron. (When I want to play the Xbox, I just switch out the CAT-5 in the back of the unit.) It works like a charm. With Xbox live, I'm even using a "non-supported" (by Microsoft) router-- the DLINK DL614+. No problemo. The Wet11 is great and has no problems with signal strength. The new Linksys G Ethernet bridge functions much better. It is worth the investment. The WET11 has difficulty going one room away, while the G hasn't dropped signal yet.
If you have it, return it and get the G. You'll be much happier with its range and performance.
Otherwise, this product is easy to configure (assuming you understand wireless networks).

I had the game adapter and it suddenly didn't work after a month. (I never got a signal! It was fustrating.) I have 64-bit encription and I tried to configure it but nothing. I bought this and was highly satisfied. I have this connected to my xbox for online capabilities. It gets more range than the game adapter also, so this is the better bet than the game adapter. Also, I still have 64-bit encription, and took 5 minutes tops, because my xbox was in the basement and my router was on the second floor! Highly recommended for X-Box Live!
