Digital camera Review: 87% signal 3 feet away from base??

I had a Linksys WET54G which just up and died and the 610N was the only bridge available at my local electronics store.
The install disk will crash when you run it on Windows 7 which will leave you completely out of luck unless you can connect it to another non-W7 machine to do the installation. Tech Support kept giving me solutions that would ONLY work had the setup worked.
The signal reception is terrible... When I was in the same room, only 3 feet away from the base it only had 87% signal strength! And I had to get the signal downstairs and across the house. The WET54G pulled 84% in the basement and could stream hulu at high quality while doing large downloads at the same time without any problems. With the 610N, I only get 34% and have to have hulu on low quality and it still stutters!
I HATE THIS BRIDGE!! Going to return it after I get a replacement.
