Digital camera reviews of Cisco-Linksys WRT160N Wireless-N Broadband RouterDigital camera Review: 4x increase in speed from previous router Summary: 5 Stars
I replaced a Linksys 802.11b router (that was still working fine) and realized a 4x increase in speed on my DSL connection. I wouldn't have believed this possible, but I had done at least 10 tests with the previous router, and did at least as many with the new one. An amazing benefit from a $60-$70 expense.
Digital camera Review: A GOOD BUY! Summary: 4 Stars
A great choice if you need a little extra boost behind your WiFi. I live in a home that usually makes it difficult for a decent signal to be received if I am not in the same room with the router. That is why this particular router really made a difference, and I am proud to say that it was easy to setup too.
Digital camera Review: A Lot of problems... Summary: 1 Stars
if you use linux you will notice alot of disconnection and reconnection with this router, and the speed of this thing slows down on rainy days.
Digital camera Review: A breeze to set up, great range and speed. Summary: 5 Stars
No complaints. Bought it for my dad about a month ago and it's been operating flawlessly.
Digital camera Review: A fail by the firmware Summary: 1 Stars
This piece of equipment is riddled with problems. To start, the installation disk would not load correctly no matter how much security I cut off. After a bit of luck and 4 hours of attempts, I finally got it running. It seemed fine for the first few days, then the internet just started dropping every few minutes. The problem got bad enough that I had a downtime of 40 minutes every hour. I thought it was the provider and had 3 service calls. After alot of irritation, they finally asked me to run the internet on one computer with just the modem. Amazing! It worked! So I got on the Linksys website and do a bit of forum searching, since calls to the company and a search of their site didn't help. I discovered that all the updated firmware versions have a "small" bug that disables the DNS server... Uh huh... Furthermore, I see an employee say that there is no intent to fix the problem in later updates for the firmware... The only choice is to downgrade to the original firmware that was abadoned for a serious security risk. I did that anyway and had a good WORKING router for almost 6 months. Now the router is starting to fail in the exact same way as before. I was a serious fan of Linksys before this, but now I am reconsidering ever buying their products again. Espescially since the calls I made all blamed my service provider instead of the faulty firmware. Do NOT buy this paperweight/doorstop unless you need to get an enemy a birthday present...
