Ok well it seems like it should be easy and it is. I have a wrt300n about 2 years old it has been through two moves and been bang around, kid handled by a 1 1/2 year old:( But it works, back to the wusb600n saw one at walfart for [...] bought it got home pluged it into a gateway tablet pc running "Xp tablet pc edition 2005 ver.2002 sp3" it asked for my wep/key gave it and pow up and running at full speed? i think the wrt300n only puts out 300mbps max so what can i say, i have other linksys card the 600n and it too gos like heck right 200mbps and the pc is stuffed in corner with the cards 3inches away from a wall .
So i hope this helps...
Digital camera Review: Adapter works perfectly; installation a no-brainer. Summary: 5 Stars
This is the second "N" adapter I have tried and, while I couldn't get the other one to pick up the signal, this Linksys WUSB600N slid right in and worked right out of the box. I think the cost is a bit steep, but the adapter is perfect.
Digital camera Review: Attention all 64 bit users: It works! Summary: 4 Stars
To my knowledge this is one of the rare wireless adapters (usb) that are compatible with vista x64. I was looking for hours, and it was looking grim, I called linksys and this is the only adapter they have that is compatible with Microsoft Windows Vista x64. I bought it, installed it using the drivers provided on cd, and its working just fine, 130mbps connection speed when used in combination with my WRT160N.
Digital camera Review: Awesome Summary: 5 Stars
i have been using this product with my 3yr+ desktop for about a month and i have been impressed all the way. installation was quick and painless. it connects to my WRT160N and 270Mbps at about 15m none line-of-sight and it even sees over 5 other wireless networks around me, most of which are wireless G and over 30m away. i can only use the 2.4Ghz frequency cause that's all my WRT160N can do and i just hate that my installed easylink advisor software did not allow the bundled WUSB600N software to install, it only just allowed the usb driver. all the same, this adapter works great and i'm suprised some customers are having problem with it, they really shouldn't be having any problems
Digital camera Review: BEWARE - No Windows 7 Support Currently from Linksys Summary: 1 Stars
At the current time (January 2010) Linksys does not support this adapter (WUSB600N) on Windows 7 and there is no Windows 7 driver available from Linksys. Do not believe the Linksys Windows 7 Compatibility FAQ that says otherwise. If you wish to have support from Linksys for this adapter on Windows 7, verify that Linksys has a Windows 7 driver to download before buying it.
Note also that hardware version 1 of this adapter, which is what you will probably get if you order a recertified or refurbished adapter, or if your vendor has old stock, may never be supported by Linksys on Windows 7.
There are Windows 7 drivers available for this adapter from other sources (Windows 7 RTM includes one, and the chipset manufacturer, Ralink has one), but they are not supported by Linksys.
Linksys will probably support hardware version 2 of this adapter on Windows 7 eventually.
