Digital camera Review: Telephone for the hard-of-hearing

I purchased this phone for my mother, who has severe hearing loss along with other health problems. She had one like this for several years, and it just "wore out". So this is a replacement. Actually, she has two of these...one in the main living area and one in her bedroom. We tried "loaners" from various health facilities in our community and through our local Senior Citizens' services. They were not satisfactory. She is able to hear clearly on this phone, with proper volume adjustment, and the larger keypad and the ability to pre-program a number of phone numbers for emergency is a great plus. Her only wish is to stay in her own home, and this phone is a tremendous help. Her only sources of communication are through her e-mail, reading the daily newspapers and one-on-one phone conversations for immediate contact with family and friends. I purchased this phone recently for my father in law, who is quite hard of hearing, after reading the many positive reviews. Now I want to add my own to the list. The phone lived up to our expectations. It is well made, and simply erases his hearing problems when he talks on the phone. I am not hearing or sight impaired, but still find the special features of this phone useful. Attractive and well lit. Large lighted buttons make dialing a cinch. I live in a senmi rural area and phone lines have lots of static. The noise cancellation feature really works well. We purchased this phone for our 89-year old mom who lives alone and who is VERY dependent on her hearing aid. It was becoming more and more difficult for her to understand people who called with her old phone. She uses a telephone "button" on her hearing aid to enable her to use the phone. This phone made a big difference. It was easy to use and we are all very satisfied with it. Purchased phone for elderly parents (in thier 80's) both have problems hearing. Phone ring is nice and loud. I can hear my mother clearly when she is speaking and believe it is the same for her. The extra cost of the phone is worth it and only wish it was purchased sooner.
