Digital camera reviews of Cobra CPI 1575 1500 Watt 12 Volt DC to 120 Volt AC Power InverterDigital camera Review: Excellent Summary: 5 Stars
The inverter is working for me exactly as described and as I hoped. I drive a truck and have it installed to replace an older, smaller model. I run a number of things including my laptop, external speakers, printer, TV and a coffee pot. The low input warning works great, and will shut down the inverter if necessary. I will be adding things soon, such as a microwave.
The meter is a great feature which lets me see how much power is being drawn by each device attached as well as the input voltage.
I highly recommend this inverter.
Digital camera Review: GREAT BUY Summary: 5 Stars
I just got my Cobra, 1500 Watt inverter by UPS. No problems with the packaging.
I hooked it up to my battery bank of eight 125amp hour marine battery's and tried it out on various lights, TV's, the coffee maker and the refrigerator. It worked great.
My refrigerator is a 7.5 amp system. I did get a short tone from the inverter for two seconds for low power, but it was just the surge from the refrigerator. From then on it worked fine. I tried it on a TV with a cable control box and had no problems.
I would recomend this inverter for the house for stand alone apliances. Of course it helps to have all those batteries as well. I am now set for any lengthy power outages.
Great service from Amazon for timely delivery and a great product.Cobra CPI 1575 1500 Watt 12 Volt DC to 120 Volt AC Power Inverter
Digital camera Review: Good inverter for the price. Summary: 4 Stars
I installed this inverter in our van, primarily so we could play Xbox 360. It had no problem powering the game console and a 19" LCD monitor for the people in the back, as well as a laptop in the passenger seat while also charging someone's phone or mp3 player via the USB port. I had been concerned about the length of the cables I used, since the manual suggested no more than around 4' and I had to run almost 8' of cable to the battery and was afraid it might not get enough voltage. Fortunately, even with the longer-than-suggested cables it had no problems.
The only thing is, getting this sucker installed was a beast. It didn't come with the fuse (required!) so I had to order a fuse kit and have it shipped to a friend's house in Chicago, where we picked it up. Then, as it it turns out, running thick cables through a van's doghouse and attaching them to the battery and installing an inline fuse is somewhat more difficult than you might think. In hindsight, if we'd have had the money, it probably should have been done by a professional, instead of by me in the parking lot of a dead mall somewhere between Columbus and Circleville, Ohio. But if you've got a couple hours and a hardware store nearby, it can be done.
Digital camera Review: Good while it lasted! Summary: 4 Stars
I purchased one of these last year to use in my boat. It worked great. Powered a 19" LCD TV with it and other stuff. One of the things I really liked about it was the USB port. Used it for many items. However when I commissioned the boat this spring the 110v outlets would not work. The USB does. The Troubleshooting guide was worthless and referred to something I could not find on my Unit (a "Protect Indicator Light"). I called Cobra direct and they would only tell me that it needed to be sent in but I needed a receipt which I am having difficulty finding. I think I may be SOL but I may send it in anyway.
Digital camera Review: Great addition to my tool collection! Summary: 5 Stars
I own a 16" electric chainsaw. There are times when I help friends that house power is just not available. I drive my truck close to where needed and connect the Cobra Power Inverter. It supplied power to my chainsaw with no problems what so ever. It also amazes folks that never knew such a great tool existed.
