I purchased this unit to be a small inverter for a marine application. I was looking for an inverter to charge batteries on small devices, such as laptop computer, camera batteries, and phones (all under 30 W). I was very pleased with the 5V USB plug, which allows me to bypass most of the transformers for my items to be charged.
I tested it with light bulbs of varying wattage and with a small electric motor. All seem to work well. No starting issues on the motor. I noted that the cooling fan engages variably with the current draw. It might get a little noisy in a quiet location if you are using it on higher-power devices. This noise will probably not be noticed in a moving car, but it is yet to be determined in my boat at anchor.
Another reason I selected this unit was for its mounting provision. I plan to mount it under a ledge, so that precious shelf space is not used. The mounting is sturdy, but it looks like the screws will be challenging to install, as mentioned in other reviews. The good thing is that I will not remove it again until it needs maintenance or needs to be replaced.
I like it and the price is right.

I bought this unit to power a CPAP machine for car camping. The unit advertising says that this unit has reverse polarity protection which is not true. Upon reading the manual it says that reversing the polarity will damage the unit. I stupidly installed the cable clamps on the wrong battery terminals and heard a pop and disconnected the unit. It was dead, waited a while to see if it would reset, nope. Opening up the unit I saw two fuses soldered to the main circuit board. Had this for about 3 years now and nothing ever went wrong when I plugged a device in for power or to charge. Plugged things in such as Laptops, iPhones, iPods, and phone chargers. The carry case is nice to have to keep the inverter and the wires neatly stored away. Great product for such a low price!
