Digital camera reviews of Coby CX-96 All Weather Sport PLL AM/FM Radio with Arm Band

Digital camera Review: Good Digital Radio for the Price
Summary: 3 Stars

Pros:
This is my 4th portable digital radio. I live in a small city. I feel both of its FM and AM receptions are good, especially the AM because of radio's small size. I can find many stations and can lock them easily. I use it while I drive (no radio in my car) and when I walk. The volume is loud enough. I haven't tried its arm band.

Cons:
1. Its preset station selection button only lets you go upward. With 10 presets each for FM and AM, it may take you a few more pushes to get back to your last preset station.
2. The Hold switch protrudes from radio's body, so it's turned to Hold "accidentally" quite often in my pocket. Small annoyance.
3. One of my favorite AM music stations, only this one, sounds distorted somehow.
4. Of course, its earbugs are useless because they keep slipping out my ears.

Overall:
It's a good digital AM/FM radio for $15.

Digital camera Review: Good for Gym bad for everything else.
Summary: 3 Stars

This product is OK. When I took it out of the box, I was very dissapointed at the reception of my local radio stations. However, when I took it to the gym (which was it's intended purpose) I was able to easily pick up all of the local broadcasts in the gym.

Also they made a small design mistake on the armband. You need to twist the band to make the velcro work.

I do not recommend this product for use other than in a gym with local broadcasts. You might need to pay a bit more and get the Sony for other uses.

Digital camera Review: Good radio for the price
Summary: 4 Stars

This is a good radio for the price. The armband is a little uncomfortable. The digital tuning is nice and 10 presets are cool. I mainly use it at the gym to tune into the TV's that they have. It works good for that.

Digital camera Review: Good value for wht you pay
Summary: 3 Stars

I was looking for a cheap portable radio for exercising (since ipods don't have AM/FM capabilities) and I found it in this item. It doesn't feel cheap but is still light enough to wear (armband) when running, walking or at the gym.

Digital camera Review: Great little radio
Summary: 4 Stars

I bought this radio for my husband who simply wants to listen to sports while he works outside or on his breaks at work. The following are a list of things he loves about it:

1. Has both AM and FM radio.
2. Includes a clock and a light to help see the screen.
3. Has digital tuning.
4. 20 total presets, 10 for each band.
5. Screen shows time as well as the presets and a volume bar.
6. Has a hold button so that while you are working you will not bump a button and accidentally change the station or the volume level. Also useful for when the unit is not in use so that you do not bump it on and burn up the batteries.
7. Comes with arm band strap and holder as well as a pair of headphones.
8. Has great reception and picks up even tough to get AM stations. He was very impressed that it even got ones he is unable to get in his car or in our house on regular radios.

Things he dislikes:

1. Arm strap that comes with it is strange to use. The Velcro is only on one side so you have to run it through the holder awkwardly.
2. The headphones that come with it are the hard plastic in the ear type with no foam covers for comfort. If he wears them for too long he finds they hurt his ears.
3. The arm strap holder is a little cheap looking and could break if you are too rough with it.
4. No belt clip.
5. Clock is always on and so it has to be using battery power constantly. If it were not for the presets he would take them out when he was not going to be using it, but then he might have to reset the presets each time. We have yet to see how long the 2 AA batteries will last.

Overall this has been a good purchase. It was not a lot of money to spend and has turned out to be just what he wanted.
