Digital camera reviews of Coby CX90BLK Digital Pocket AM/FM Radio, Black

Digital camera Review: I don't know why people aren't writing better reviews, I love my new little AM/FM radio
Summary: 5 Stars

I was looking just for a little am/fm radio (the size of a small mp3 player, BUT a RADIO not a mp3 player) to take with me when I jog... I like listening to talk radio which is why I wanted both AM and FM. I don't know why more companies DON'T make both AM and FM - after an exhaustive search on the internet it looks like only a few companies even bother with AM anymore... I bought this little radio not sure what to expect, since the reviews other people were leaving were lukewarm to warm at best... I have no idea why. My radio works great, reception is great, it's plenty loud even on the first volume level, perhaps it's not symphony quality - but even when I tune in a rock channel it comes through loud and clear, certainly the same quality as my car factory stereo.... It did take me a few minutes to figure out how it works (it's pretty simple really) and how to set all the channels... I have already gone out running with it and I have absolutely no complaints. It performs better than I had expected (of course I wasn't sure exactly what to expect but for the price I decided to take a gamble)... If you're looking for what I was, then this is the radio for you!

Digital camera Review: I don't trust any of these digital radios
Summary: 2 Stars

This radio, like probably almost all the other digital radios I've tried,

has very poor reception. I also hate, HATE the digital volume. A great

radio would be something like the Sony walkman radio with a signal

booster switch, an analog rotary volume switch, but a digital readout

and presets. And for under $40. Is there any such radio out there? I'd

be interested in it. This radio is as "good" as any of the other more

expensive brands I've seen that do the exact same thing in a different

package. If you just want a radio and you live in downtown Any-ville

close to all your favorite stations, you might like this radio.

Digital camera Review: Junk - Don't waste your money
Summary: 1 Stars

Product was dead on arrival. Never worked. Felt like it was cheaply made once I got my hands on it. Wish I never wasted time or money on it.

Digital camera Review: Limited in Form/Function
Summary: 3 Stars

This radio does work fairly well, but it's quite limited in it's function and design. While it does a decent job of picking up stations, it lacks a belt clip and the headphone jack is located on the bottom of the radio-very poorly engineered if you want to try and place the radio in your own inexpensive belt-clip adapter. The radio comes with a hand strap-I guess that's ok if you move around and carry the radio, but not my cup of tea. An inexpensive belt-clip would have made this product functionable. As I referenced, you can't even place this product in your own belt-clip case as the headphone jack is on the bottom of the radio-very poor design. Finally, I'd like to clarify some erroneous statements in other reviews that actually are positive attributes of this radio: 1.)this radio DOES retain settings as the instruction indicate-you have approximately 45 seconds to change the batteries which is adequate; 2.)this radio is very easy to operate and setting the clock/programming stations is very easy as are the simple instructions. Just wanted to clarify those points. I did send my radio back because I just don't want to carry it on a handstrap or have to stuff it in a pocket-the lack of a belt clip and the headphone jack on the bottom makes this radio impracticle for me.

Digital camera Review: Looks nice but...
Summary: 2 Stars

In comparison the positive reviews I read, I was very disappointed. The main reason I got the radio was to listen while on walks. What was annoying, the station kept fading then came back as I walked past houses. I could get the gist of the information, but kept moving the radio in an attempt to get better reception.
Also, have to turn it on twice or three times before the station comes on! Maybe this one is defective. Hate finding the packaging to be able to return it.
The design of the radio is very attractive, it's light and nice to hold onto (with the lock it's not possible to accidentally change settings).
