The Coby CD/MP3 player is great for the price. I saw some bad reviews on here but disagree with the majority of them. This thing works beautifully, audio clear and has good frequency response, it also comes packaged with real HiFi earphones. It's even got a 4.5VDC input for a charger! I would recommend it to anyone who recognizes the technical advantages of owning one of these devices.Digital camera Review: Fryin 1

I took some computer surround speakers, a mini(three plug)adapter and the Coby Mp3/CD player and put surround sound around my king size bed. I bought three speaker stands from the Good Guys(before they went under). So I put the sub-woofer directly under the middle of the bed. Two speakers on each night stand, two speakers on speakers stans at each end of the foot of the bed and the middle speaker in the middle at the foot of the bed. I don't move the Coby around so it all depends on the life of the motor. I've had it there for over three years now. I bought three more Coby's affraid the one I have might burn out soon.
So as a portable I don't know how long it will last. But stationary, it's been over three years and still going strong. With the extra ones I bought, they shouls last a couple decades.

It plays CD's and MP3's with no problem. It automatically knows which format
is in the player and plays it without any special selection buttons to push.
Quite satisfied with the quality and price.
