Digital camera Review: An excellent cover for Kindle 2

I have taken my Kindle 2 on several overseas trips, using this cover as protection and could only ask for one improvment. First, the cover holds the Kindle securely and the leather is thick enough to protect it when it is in a bag with other electonics. It is lightweight and good looking and will take a fair amount of abuse, while keeping the Kindle 2 pristine. The only thing I would suggest as an improvement is the small pocket on the left inside cover should be redesigned. It appears to be made to hold a business card. Instead, it should be increased in size and moved downward so as to hold tickets and boarding passes and even a passport SECURELY. If this were done, all I would need in my hand as I got on a plane was my Kindle 2 in its Cole Haan cover, as my boarding documents would be there with it. I got this for my Kindle and it's the best cover/case I've ever used! Super-soft leather with the fantastic Kindle latch to hold it in place. Has the best tactical feel of any case I've ever had, and is better than any iPad case I've ever seen. I cut off the annoying "Cole Haan" tag from the front (it was stitched on), and though that left little holes in the cover, I like it better that way. The tag was just tacky and added unnecessary bulk to the cover. I also put leather conditioner (left over from my shoes) over the outside of the case and it took that quite well.
I recommend this over any other Kindle case. It's minimalist, beautiful leather, without the added reinforcement most cover manufacturers add to their cases. Gorgeous!

Unlike some of the low reviewers here, I received a non-defective item. The leather is flawless and looks even better than the picture. However, my gripe with this, after having used it with my kindle, is that it doesn't secure the kindle to the back cover. The problem with this is that should someone accidentally pull the back cover away from the kindle it will snap the kindles edges.
Three other things I don't like about this is the name stitched on the front, the floppy cover and the business card holder on the inside. The Cole Haan stitch in the front is annoying. I already paid for the item, must I be a walking commercial for the company also? The floppy cover is just silly. And while the business card holder may seem like a good idea, it actually puts unnecessary bulk to the case and can possibly press up against the kindle create more focused pressure where the keys are.
It's a pity because the leather is nice and I actually made some personal modifications to mine, adding elastic strips to the corners and removing the unnecessary stitched leather on the inside and outside front cover, but now it looks old and abused meanwhile I just got it. But better that than the way it came.
I wouldn't recommend this product and think there are probably better, cheaper and safer, alternatives out there.

I had this cover in the original design with straps and had some issues with it not folding back very well and the pocket being huge. These issues have now been addressed. This cover folds back beautifully and the pocket is flush with the case. The cover closes perfectly as well. No longer a problem with it not being flush with the kindle. This cover feels very soft yet sturdy in the hands. It's pricey but if you are interested in spending money on a high quality leather cover this is a great one. Too many covers for the kindle just feel like gadget cases and I wanted something that looked like a leather book cover. This gives me that. I feel like I am reading from an old leatherbound book with this cover. I also feel its very durable and should keep very well. It weighs 7.6 ounces for anyone interested. Its heavier than the amazon cover but feels lighter in my hands. I think that is because it is thicker (without being bulky) so its more comfortable in my hands. As well as having a little ledge for my hands to rest when I read for a long period which the amazon cover doesn't give you.
