I purchased 2 covers, one for each kindle I have. The first's leather was soft and the kindle locked in smoothly. So far so good. The second cover's leather is stiff, visibly of a different quality, and I had to struggle with the hinge.
I do not know this for a fact, but I wouldn't be surprised if this is yet another "Made in China" substitute. I thought I was dealing with an American supplier.

This is a beautifully produced luxury item to protect a Kindle. It feels so soft and luxurious in my hands and looks like an older, well-bound book. Definitely worth the money, especially if it can be purchased when discounted. I believe in quality over quantity and was able to purchase this Cole Hahn case - it is well worth the price! My fear since purchasing the Kindle is dropping it and if I ever do (!) this case will easily protect it from any damage! The cover is well made, supple and eye appealing. A little tricky to attach, but no biggie. I like having a cover to protect my Kindle especially when it's not in use, but the cover does add weight and you basically have to use two hands while reading. Unless something else really great comes out, I'd recommend this cover for anyone looking for these qualifies.
