This is what I was looking for. It lifts the computer just enough for air circulation but the laptop keyboard is still comfortable to use. And it works on all my mobile computers--a 17 inch Qosmio, a 15 inch Satellite and my new tiny netbook. The computers seem to be the steadiest when the pad is sticking out a few inches in back. I brought this hoping it would keep my lap from being so hot from my laptop. Well it worked! I am enjoying using this little device. Its good strong and does the job. Took me forever to find a small lightweight pad that I can throw in my carry-on bag when I travel. I didn't need or want a fan, or a bulky lap pad, I just wanted something that would lift my notepad off of the desk or bed in a hotel room so that it can get some air circulation. At 2.5 oz. this works great. As some have experienced, my particular notebook the fan intake on the bottom of my notebook is blocked by the back left "foot" on the pad, this occurs if I place my notebook exactly centered onto the pad. To solve this I simply place my notebook a little bit off-center on the pad, which is no problem as it is still stable. They could solve this problem by making the pad in two sizes, but for now this works fine.
