Digital camera reviews of Creative Hard Plastic Case for Zen, Zen MX (Clear)Digital camera Review: Acceptable and Serves It's Purpose, some downs. Summary: 4 Stars
I bought this case for my zen, wanting to protect that wonderful look that it had coming out of the box. When I opened the package for this case, there were a few smudges or scratches on the case itself, which puzzles me, but they are of no big concern. Now to the use itself. It works very well, protecting all but the buttons from damage, but there are a few things that could be done to improve the case. The case leaves very little room to control buttons close to the edge of the case, especially for me, the right direction key, and now I have to slightly angle the whole thing if I want to successfully skip forward or flip into a sub-menu. I have fairly skinny fingers too. Also, the case covers the reset button and the sd card slot, but it is actually not that hard to take the case on and off. The kick stand is very handy, so that I can prop up my player while I'm working at my desk to see what is playing. When I first put my player in this case, I had to try a couple of times to do it without letting any dust in. That may be clumsiness on my own part, but it is still to be noted. The key-chain is great for hanging the player on your backpack or briefcase, but I live in Central Seattle, not a great place to be walking around with an mp3 player hanging out for anyone to see and more likely take. All in all, great case, serves it's purpose, no major faults, and i definitely recommend it.
Digital camera Review: Almost Perfect Summary: 4 Stars
The Hard Plastic Case for the Zen media player is almost perfect. The case provides excellent protection for the player; only the control buttons and connection ports are exposed for your headphones and USB. The red carbine is great for either attaching to a belt loop or hanging from a lanyard around your neck. It works so good that I almost never take mine out of its case. The kick stand on the back is great for when I'm a passanger on the road and I want to watch a movie (You MUST sign-up for Amazon Unboxed if you have the Zen. It takes the player to a whole higher level of convenience.) There are only two things that I'd want to improve: 1) The screen on the Zen presses against the inside of the case, causing a slight blurrieness where the contact is (not a big deal), 2) The case could really use a side belt clip on the back of the case so it could be latched on like a cell phone in case the carbine isn't the prreferred way of toting around the player. If you're going to create such a kick butt case, why not go all the way? I'd have gladly paid an extra $5 more if it had a belt clip. All in all, great player, great case and great price.
Digital camera Review: Avoid this case! Summary: 1 Stars
It's tight fit is also its main problem. The rear of the case scrapes the back of the player every time you slide it on or off. If you want to keep you player looking good, avoid this product.
Digital camera Review: Best case for the player Summary: 5 Stars
This is the best manufacturer case for the Zen MP3 Player. The case is tough, and prevents your MP3 Player from scratching. It also has a nice belt loop clip. Everything is easy to access, including the headphone jack and the buttons.
The plastic case also has a nice stand, so you can lean your player up.
This is perhaps the better quality protection for this player. The leather one is nice, but if you want to be able to show off your player easily this is the case to get.
Edit: If you don't like my review, please tell why.
Digital camera Review: Bitter Sweet Summary: 3 Stars
The idea and execution were great. It protects the device without taking away from the beauty of it by smothering it with a leather pouch.
Main issue is that the case is made of plastic. Plastic that scratches very easily. After a week of use the thing was full of scratches.
You can still see the screen well but it might just get worse and worse.
Another thing is that the plastic doesn't cushion anything. If the thing drops on the floor from 4ft. it will most probably break... so don't drop it. I used to have a Micro Zen with a leather pouch and the thing was like a tank.... But it was kinda ugly...
If all you want it for is to have it in your pocket... this works just fine, if you want to throw it in a bag with other things around. It will scratch very easily.
At least the player is not scratched. You can always buy a new clear case.
7/10
