Digital camera reviews of Creative Labs 70PF165000000 Zen MicroPhoto 8 GB MP3 Player (Titanium Gray)Digital camera Review: Garbage Summary: 1 Stars
Horrible battery life, breaks on me once every few months. Really nothing special about the extra features. You can upload pictures on it to view them on the 1.5" screen. Whoop-dee-doo.
Do yourself a favor and pass on this one...
Digital camera Review: Go against the flow, skip the iPod & get a Zen! Summary: 5 Stars
LOVE this little guy! Added bonus of being able to set a fave photo as the screen backdrop makes it personalized. The variety of colors that the player comes in is cool but around the holidays the only color available was the standard silver... was hoping for purple. :) The earbuds that come with are top-notch, if a little big for my ears. 8 gb might not sound like a lot of storage but I loaded almost my entire cd collection plus half my hubby's with room to spare. Love being able to use Windows Media Player 10 to load with ease... just wish WMP10 would let me organize the tunes once loaded. You have to use the software that comes with the player for that which is slightly annoying. It comes with two programs, neither of which does absolutely everything you need it to but they're both pretty easy to figure out. Touch pad seems sensitive at first but there's a setting for it (low, med & hi) so you can adjust it to your fingers. Also dig the organizer that syncs with Outlook (no need for a pocket calendar anymore!) Thank you Creative Labs for an awesome little piece of equipment!
Digital camera Review: Good Player-Not so good pictures Summary: 4 Stars
This is my first MP3 player and as a starter player, it's fine. However, the screen started giving me trouble right away. I lost a whole line of pixels near the bottom of the screen. The company actually states that they prefer that you return faulty merchandise to the store. Unfortunately, anyone who buys from amazon knows what a pain in the rear returning things can be and I am a busy person so I decided to live with it. The playback is good, although the headphones that came with it are pretty mediocre. Also its software isn't very good either. However, it's a good price for eight megabytes of music to take with you wherever and when it breaks, I think I'll be ready to invest in a nicer Ipod.
Digital camera Review: Good all around player Summary: 4 Stars
Love the Creative Zen! For the money, you cannot beat the value. Excellent battery life, and easy to get to the battery if you had to. No need to send back to the company like an iPod, which my daughter has.
Digital camera Review: Good competition for the iPod Summary: 5 Stars
Pros: Small. The Micro Photo is smaller than it looks in the pictures. I had even used a ruler to draw its size on paper and I was still surprised at how small it is. The blue glow is awesome looking and the screen is really easy to see. Sound quality is good through the included ear buds... I plugged in my Sennheiser Pro headphones and sound quality was excellent. The interface is well-designed and easy to figure out (I don't really understand why people complain about it). The touchpad is a little sensitive on the factory preset sensitivity... set it to low and you're good to go.
Cons: The included software is missing a few features that would really be nice. Though you can sync your Zen using Windows Media Player, the playlists will not show up on your Zen... all the music will be there, organized by genre and such... but it will not be organized into the playlist you had it in in WMP. To get my WMP playlists to copy over, I had to purchase third-party software (Red Chair's Notmad Explorer) for an additional $25. Also, if you're listening to music at a really low volume and the screen is on, you can hear a high-pitched whine in the background... as soon as the screen shuts off (about 5 seconds left untouched), the whine goes away... not too big of a deal.
Overall: I think this player is awesome. I've only had it for a day and I really enjoy listening to music on it. I would highly recommend the Creative Zen Micro Photo to anyone.
