The armband is completely made of a black cloth, and therefore you do not see the screen at all, making the best feature of the zen useless. In addition, when running the armband slides down your arm as it is not very elastic, and collects sweat more than any armband I've tried before. This is one irritating product. It's durable, and the velcro is strong, but it's got a fatal flaw: the screen isn't visible! If you set up a playlist or use shuffle and want to lock it (disabling the buttons), I guess it would be okay. However, if you're like me, you'll want to adjust the volume on occasion or skip a track here and there. Well, with this armband if you're trying to do that and you errantly hit a button while, prepare to interrupt your workout so you can slide the player out and navigate the menu.
I guess I have myself to blame--the armband is exactly as pictured, but in practice it's way more of a pain to use than I anticipated. Unfortunately, it was the only armband I could find when this player was released. I'll be getting a different armband as soon as one becomes available. Dissatisfaction is guaranteed with this poorly conceived product.

I bought the Zen armband to use at the gym. It protects my Zen, but covers all the controls. I have to turn it on BEFORE inserting it in the arm band. Then I can connect it to the earphones. There are raised symbols, a la braille, that can be used, but they do not work for me. I am sorry I spent the money. Now I have to see if any of the user friendly iPod armbands will work.Digital camera Review: Not great to working out

I not fond of the design. If you want to get a tight squeeze you need a work out buddy to do it for you... Its difficult to do it with one hand. Also when using this band you can not see the display so playing any music or content is a guessing game. I understand it is probably to keep the display protected but a better design should have been chosen.
