The Creative Audigy SE is an excellent upgrade from the standard computer system sound. I bought the soundcard for 2 important reasons:
1. I just purchased a new computer with the Windows Vista Home Premium operating system, and the card works just fine with it. Definitely a HUGE upgrade from the standard computer sound at a nice price. Of course, make sure your desktop PC is compatible and has an extra PCI slot to slip the card into. I also have a Klipsch THX 2.1 speaker system, and now my computer sounds terrific through that.
2. Yes, the software that comes with the Creative Audigy SE card has an EQ for adjusting bass, treble, etc. Sounds huge! Just make sure you install the neccessary software from the CD.
So, if you want an excellent sound card for listening to music, watching videos, movies, etc., I think you will like this card.

This sound card is just absolutely phenomenal. Why spend upwards of $100 to get an X-Fi card, when you can get the same premium quality from the Audigy card. The EAX feature was great when playing games like counter-strike and Battlefield2. The added support for 7.1 features is great too, now all I need is a good speaker setup. works very good. better than the X-fi Fatality I had earlier. this one had knows for you to adjust to different genre of music. NOTE if you have Windows 7, you won't be able to install the driver. To do it right, you have to install the Creative softwares FIRST, then install the driver afterward.Digital camera Review: Garbage

Before you buy anything from Creative, google the words incompatible + legacy drivers + sounblaster + windows xp
Huge compatibiltiy issues that will have Creative Tech help telling you to flash and update your system bios, chipsets, leaving an entire PCI slot between Sounblaster card and any other card, update drivers, yada, yada, etc. Read all of the issues from the aforementioned google, and ignore the Creative employee reviews (they are easy to spot). Creative ignores the fact that its products have huge conflicts with Windows operating systems.
