Digital camera reviews of Creative Labs Silicone Skin for Zen X-Fi (Clear)Digital camera Review: Like but need to get used to interface Summary: 4 Stars
I use for audiobooks. The user interface is a challenge and not very intuitive. Have had difficulty with it freezing when I've tried to rewind or fast forward in a track. Thank god for the reset button. The size is great. I really like to ability to lock the keys so they don't get inadvertently pushed.
Digital camera Review: Nice Summary: 5 Stars
I had a leather case for my original Creative Zen. It wasn't ideal... it was a touch too large to hold my Zen, and I had to shove a folded sheet of paper behind the player to keep it from sliding out. The case slipped and got in the way, and was annoying, though passable.
After reading reviews for both this, and the leather X-Fi case, I decided to go with this silicone skin to cover my new X-Fi, and ordered one along with the player.
I have no problems whatsoever with this product.
It went on beautifully, contrary to another review the buttons lined up perfectly, and I was able to slip it back off with ease when I needed to... it gives me a nice grip on the player, I can access all the buttons and such without issue, and it protects my player.
Digital camera Review: Not worth it. Summary: 2 Stars
I bought this case along with my X-Fi 32gb and I thought it would be the greatest thing since sliced bread. I have a silicone case for my Blackberry and I love it. It protects my phone and doesn't collect dust and just looks good. Although it does protect it, it is a pain. The silver buttons on it don't line up with the regular buttons, making it extremely difficult to press the buttons. It also collects lint like the lint catcher in my dryer. Definitely not worth the money. Very bad product from Creative, which is VERY surprising.
Digital camera Review: Pretty bad little case Summary: 2 Stars
Have to agree with the first reviewer, the silver buttons (which look really cheap in my opinion) don't sit flush on the buttons of the Zen. Very difficult to push. Also got one of the cheaper knock off silicone cases that are sold here on Amazon with clear button coverings and it works pretty great.
Digital camera Review: Tailor-made for the Creative X-Fi Summary: 4 Stars
Getting some kind of case for a new MP3 player is nearly mandatory (pity the manufacturers still won't ship one with their players), so after buying my Creative X-Fi 32GB I looked around for a case.
I like silicone because it isn't bulky and protects well (not against violent impact, of course). For my previous Creative Zen I'd bought a silicone case which I loved, because it had a snap hook I could attach to a bag strap or to one of my jeans' belt loops. No such luck with the current offerings for the X-Fi, and I really didn't like what I saw except for Creative's own silicone skin.
So that's what I got. I read the reviews complaining about mis-aligned buttons but maybe I was lucky: every detail in the Creative clear silicone skin aligns perfectly with the player, be it the buttons, the on/off switch (which can be a bit hard to reach), the SD card slot, you name it. The player looks protected, it doesn't slip from my grasp and the handling is unaffected by the silicone. It'd be perfect if it had a snap hook.
