Digital camera Review: Awesome USB External Sound Adapter
Summary: 5 Stars

I have a Dell Dimension E520 and Thinkpad laptop running Camtasia video/audio recording software, I guess because they both have built-in internal sound adapters, so audio is not working through Camtasia. I went out and bought this so I can use it for either machine instead of getting an internal sound card. Well, the answer is yes. this adapter works on both my PC and laptop, and it sounds awesome. great product and reasonable price and it did the job for me.

Digital camera Review: Awesome sound card!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

For quite some time, I have been using an old Soundblaster Audigy 2 value card in my PC. Last year, when I upgraded my built-in video card, I had to get rid of a recently purchased sound card in order to get the video card to fit. Recently, the Audigy 2's microphone input went on the fritz and I could not get it fixed. I decided to get a new sound card to replace the old one and I decided on getting an external device over an internal device. Most external sound cards cost anywhere from $100 plus up to over $400.00. I seen this one out here and decided to give it a chance. What a HUGE difference over the old Audigy 2. I am now hearing details that only could be heard on very expensive CD/DVD players!!! The music seems to come to life!!! At only $45.00 it is a small price to pay to get 300 percent better performance.

Digital camera Review: Bang for the buck
Summary: 5 Stars

Creative Labs USB Sound Blaster X-Fi 70SB Surround 5.1This product is a much needed device for enhancing the quality of sound that comes from sources that are compressed on the computer such as internet radio. The device makes a noticeable difference in both clarity and depth of sound, particularly for music. The inputs are useful, including earphones, line-in (for an MP3 player)and microphone. The output for speakers allows a hook-up to powered multi-media speakers. For those who do not want to install a computer card, this external device is easy to use and is cost-effective.

Digital camera Review: Blue Screen of Death 8-X
Summary: 5 Stars

System:
HP Pavillion Entertainment laptop DV9000 series.
2GB RAM.
256 NVIDIA Graphics.
XP Media Center Edition.
Logitech Z5500 Speakers.

Just received this sound card today about an hour ago actually. So this is gonna be quite a short review. Upon installation I thought it was great compared to the old one i had. I had a Creative Audigy 2 NX external sound card for more or less a year and a half that gave up on me last week. Hopefully this one would last longer than the old one.

The Good:
>X-fi Crystalizer does an excelent job. I can hear cymbals more now with my Logitech Z5500 speakers which i could barely hear with my old sound card (Creative Audigy 2 NX).

The bad:
>After installing the driver and software and rebooting my laptop. I tried playing a music with Windows Media Player. Checked out what new with the software this came with. Adjusted a few things on the software settings then, all of a sudden the music Stoped! Next thing i saw was the BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH staring right at me with my 24" monitor. Man that was scary. My heart was pumping like crazy. Felt like Bloody Mary was looking at me LOL. A good early Trick or Treat by my system I guess. But after that, it rebooted itself and now its running swell. I have no idea what caused that Blue Screen of Death to appear.

Updates will be done for this review if problems come or if I dont get too lazy to type.

P.S.
What i liked about the Sound Blaster Audigy 2NX was that it had a Fiber Optic Input where in i can plug in my PS3 and have the EAX effects of the soundcard on my Speakers. This only has Line In, Mic Inputs doesnt even have Coax Out. But I guess that just how life is, you just cant have everything in one. I'd still recommend this!

Digital camera Review: Cautiously, Rating this as five stars
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a wonderful device. It plays music extremely well. I am rating this as five stars with caution.

First, I installed all the software (USB Sound Blaster X-Fi Surround 5.1, MediaSource Player, and Creative Media Toolbox) on my ASUS Eee PC 1005HA-PU1X-BU Netbook. I ran the MediaSource Organizer and the Creative Console Launcher- part of the USB Sound Blaster X-Fi Surround 5.1 software program- and played some music. After a while, I restarted the computer and in the shutting down phase it displayed the BSOD (Blue Screen of Death). The computer restarted and I played some more music with the same two programs and it froze in the middle of the song. I pushed the "On" button on the computer to turn it off, waited 10 seconds, and restarted the computer. It came back on, then gave me the BSOD. I unplugged the device from the computer and it restarted fine.

After each BSOD, Windows XP displayed a message saying "Windows has recovered from a serious error". I finally sent the "Error Report" to Microsoft. A screen came up in IE saying that it is a device driver or my hard drive. I bought the computer on Black Friday and have never had the BSOD until after I installed all this software.

I un-installed all the software using Start menu > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs and deleted the "Creative" folders from "Program Files". Then, I re-installed "USB Sound Blaster X-Fi Surround 5.1" only which has all the sound effects and Equalizer for the USB Card itself. I still play the music through Windows Media Player with occasional BSOD's due to the device.

It plays Ulrich Schnauss very well with Sony MDR-V700DJ DJ Style Monitor Series Headphones which is why I am giving it five stars!
