Digital camera Review: A decent product but not what I wanted

This is a decent product, but as a Flip "knock-off" it did not do the trick for me. I should have researched it better. I could not directly import video from the Vado into iMovie on the Mac. I had to search on the web for a converter program, which I found.
But I intend to sell this at a loss and purchase a Flip. It is only a little bit higher and price, and imports seamlessly into iMovie.
Plus, the Flip allows one to take still images from the video in a way I could not find for the Vado.
Digital camera Review: A heck of a lot better than I expected.

It works like a charm. I think it takes very good video, almost as good as a DV camcorder. I was especially surprised at the quality of video taken in low to very low light, it is very good. The sofware that comes with it is limited, they basically force you to upgrade, that wasn't very nice because I did not know that and is not in the description. I would like to have a more powerful digital zoom even if the quality of the video drops at full zoom. Battery life is very good. I like that everything is self contained: usb port, memory, software and the rechargeable battery.
Nothing to complain about. I hope that in the future they build a waterproof or at least a splashproof version.
Fantastic camera, would certainly buy again.

I've tried the Flip MinoHD Camcorder, 60 Minutes (Black) and I can certainly recommend the Vado HD over it. Still, just like the Flip, I'm left wondering what is so great about a $200 dedicated video camera that isn't any smaller than my $200 Panasonic DMC-FX37K 10MP Digital Camera with 5x Wide Angle MEGA Optical Image Stabilized Zoom (Black) which has comparable video capabilities along with a host of still camera features. The Panasonic is even smaller. So, these products don't make much sense to me.
However, if you must have one, the Vado is certainly cool, very easy to use, durable, and has a larger screen than the Flip.
