Digital camera Review: An Electronic Lemon
Summary: 1 Stars

Coming out of the box, Creative Zen 16GB MP3 Player puts on quite an impressive show. This model is complimented with a brilliant color screen, crystal clear sound, SD card slot, FM radio, voice recorder and user friendly EQ. Like most models in this line, it only comes in black.

This unit supports a vast array of WMA, WAV, ADPCM, Audible, MP3, AAC. In video mode battery life clocked in at about 5 hours. Audio lasted for about 20 hours. PIM function will allow for the syncing of calendar, appointments, etc; via Outlook. FM radio offers auto scan with 32 preset slots.

All in all this WAS the perfect and probably the most complete player on the market. If it had not been for other problems raising their ugly head I could have easily overlooked the sticky and very cheap control pad. In short, after a few months of perfect sound and video the system simply locked up. No video, no music, no nada.

Phone tech support with Creative Labs is not what it is cracked up to be. Sending in the unit for diagnostics and repair was a month long ordeal with limited results at best. Once returned, the player worked for a awhile until the same evil gremlin raised its ugly head.

After repeated attempts at resolving this problem with an almost non-existent customer support center, I was informed the item was no longer under warranty and that I would have to foot the bill for any future repairs. The Creative Zen 16GB Mp3 Player would have been an outstanding purchase if it had only operated for at least one year before biting the dust. Bottom line is, I am left with a very overpriced paper weight.

Digital camera Review: Awesome versatile mp3 player
Summary: 5 Stars

This replaced a Creative Micro Photo 8gb (micro hard drive) with which I was extremely pleased with for two years. I bought the 4gb version of this player for may father's Christmas present, and I was so jealous I got myself the 16gb version.

This little device is incredibly versatile. Plays mp3 with great sound (but buy better earphones), plays video on a great 2.5" screen, has an FM radio built in, microphone, and even has a slot for sd memory cards, something I haven't seen in a similar device. I use Windows Media Player to manage songs (but need the supplied software to handle playlists). I occasionally use a remote designed for earlier versions that connects via the headphones jack so I can keep it on a belt clip while exercising. I wish the Creative software was better, but that's really not a problem. It's a much better value than a similar iPod. The only advantages iPods have over it is the abundance of accessories and easy integration with iTunes (can work around that).

I highly recommend this one, though there's already a 32gb version. I expect in a couple of years to buy a replacement that's 64 gb or more and with bells and whistles I can only dream of (built in Bluetooth?) from Creative. Remember, these are the guys who invented the iPod touch dial interface!

Digital camera Review: Bad Quality, bad design, bad support
Summary: 1 Stars

The first one I received had a bad bookmark function, crucial to me since it was primarily to be used for books. It would set the bookmark, but the bookmark would clear after about an hour or so. Hardly useful. Customer support did not speak english, and was of no use. Exchanged it, and the replacement just kept freezing, then wouldn't turn on at all. Also, it is too easy to hit the select button when you are trying to toggle, (select button is inside the toggle). This kept happening to me after I would attempt to fast forward to my spot in the book after the bookmark cleared. Very very irritating. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!
I got an iTouch instead and I love it. I love it so much that I got rid of my Blackberry and got an iPhone 3G. Absolutely no comparison.

Digital camera Review: Beautiful MP3 Player for those who are on the GO
Summary: 5 Stars

I run, drive & fly all the time. This thing is almost always with me. If I was Superman I'd even carry this with me fighting crime. The other night I dropped this in the parking lot. 12 hours later and after being ran over by a car I found it. It still works perfectly. All the buttons and screen is perfect. Nothing wrong with it besides looking a little dirty from being covered in snow for a good part of the night.

Good battery life, great big quality screen, i put all my pictures in there, sounds great *(headphones replaced with skull candy), and had no problems with putting media onto it.

Can't complain it has served me very well. Great product!

Digital camera Review: Best MP3 Player I've Ever Used
Summary: 5 Stars

I absolutely love this player. It does everything I want it to, and it does it all well while still looking sexy. The interface is far better than that of the iPod, and its looks and features put the poor Apple product to shame (and I'm a Mac fanboy... it's painful for me to say that!) Note - even though it was advertised as only working with Windows, I use Ubuntu and Rhythmbox recognizes it just fine with the MTP plugin activated.

Pros:

Amazing sound quality. Really good library management (quick alphabet scroller is a great touch). Features out the wazoo (calendar, tasks, photos, videos, FM radio, microphone). Responsive user interface. Tactile buttons feel good.

Cons:

No "All Albums" selection under the Artist menus is a little pet peeve and the included headphones are gigantic (my ears are small). Those are the only issues I could find with this player!
