Digital camera Review: A great buy for the money!

The player is very easy to carry around. I have taken it to the gym and on a bike trip. It's small, but not too small. It just feels right in your hands. The screen is clean and bright, very easy to read the music track scrolling across the player. The photo viewing capability is good, but the screen is just too small to view pictures...in my opinion. The sound is great, with an EQ and base boost. Half way up is loud enough for me. The Napster collaboration works well together. If you download Napster and plug in this player, they work with each other really well. You can download music to Napster and it syncs up with the Zen and downloads the music to the player for you very nice.
Dislikes:
The battery life does not impress me. They say 15 hours per charge, but after 8 or 9 hours, you can see a vast reduction in battery power. I prefer the AA battery's like the one I had on my Iriver. The AA's lasted 20+ hours per charge. I don't like the idea of having to plug it into a computer to charge it. It should have its own charger and it does not. The off/on buttons are on the top of the player and you have to switch it from one side to the other to turn the player on and off and to lock it in. Over time, that switch will wear out and need to be replaced. My preference is a push button on the face of the player.
UPDATE: Today, Oct 30th 2006, my Zen's hard drive failed. I called the help desk and they told me my hard drive has failed and needs replaced. I had to pay $25 for a replacement, even though it's not even a year old. In the future, I would rather have a FLASH based player not a "hard drive" based one...like this Zen Micro. With a flash based player, you can drop and shake the player...the hard drive can take it. If you have a hard drive based player, you have to be really careful. If you shake it too much, drop it, or jog with it, there is a good chance the hard drive within the ZEN player will crash and the hard drive will freeze up. I learned the hard way! I lost over 1,000 songs and pics. I still like the player and will keep it for the time being, but my next player will be FLASH DRIVE based.
Final Grade: A-
I think it's an excellent player for the money. I was able to purchase it from Circuit City on sale for $169.99 during Memorial weekend. For 8GB of hard drive with Photo viewing capability, you just can't beat it! If you're thinking about purchasing an MP3 player, please consider the Creative Zen Micro Photo. These guys know what they're doing.
