I think I was the last person to get an mp3 player, I didn't want to spend a lot of money but I wanted something cute and could hold a decent amount of songs. Putting the songs on is a little confusing at first and I still haven't found a way to move songs around and add folders to put songs into, but the good thing about that is the folders take up space, and the less folders the better. I've got around 200 songs on it now and still plenty of room (wma format). I would definately recommend getting the keychain case that goes with it, the first couple of days I had it without the case I put a couple of scratches in it and since then none. I also purchased a set of ear buds that go around my ear because my ears are small and the ones that come with it were too big and hurt or fell out.Digital camera Review: Perfect gift for a technophobe music lover

I bought this as a gift for my 74 year old father, who is completely untechnical but has a love for obscure music that nobody else wants to listen to. I loaded it up for him, using the Creative Media Lite software, and set it to shuffle. All he has to remember how to do is to press the middle button to turn it on and off.
I found the Creative Media Lite software to be easy and intuitive to use, and the Zen Stone is light, attractive, and SIMPLE for someone who would never be able to navigate screens. The sound quality is excellent (I replaced the earbuds with an inexpensive portable headset) and my father is thrilled with it. He "loves his Zen".

This is a piece of JUNK.....don't buy it. Consider an Apple iPod Shuffle for just a few dollars more.
I received my Zen Stone 1GB player as a gift. Once I charged it up and loaded the music, it would play no more than 3 hours. The specs (and Creative support says it should play 10-12 hours. (I have since read some of the chat forums and many others are experiencing the same 3 hour playback.)
I inquired via there email support and got NO response at all.
I then called their support line and was told that I had to update the software, AND "repair" the player software. After having done all this, it still only played about 2 1/2 hrs.
I asked for a refund (or exchange) but because it was a gift (and I could not provide a dated receipt), they would only repair it if I paid $25. I told them it was not even worth $1.
So....save yourself much grief and money....DO NOT BUY THIS!!Creative Zen Stone 1 GB MP3 Player (Black)

I do miss the display but I love the simple drag and drop explorer capability. Mine came with a clip. I use it in my truck to listen to podcasts and the battery seems to discharge when not in use. Well, I like my little stone, it's easy to use and fairly good looking- verrryyy tiny. The earbuds that came with it are almost completely useless, they fell out of my ears 8 times in twenty minutes, and I was just sitting down. The player works just fine, will easily accept drag and drop music (and Jpegs and whatever you want to stick on it)... but the stupid USB adapter cord is hard to keep track of. I'm actually not sure where it is at the moment. All in all, I like my little ipod nano knockoff, but it doesn't have any frills, so don't buy one if you want fancy equalizers or radio or pretty moving pictures.
