Digital camera reviews of Creative Zen Stone 1 GB MP3 Player (Black)Digital camera Review: 1 GB MP3 Summary: 5 StarsSimple to use, and the inexpensive price on this Creative Zen trumps the cost that is added to other manufacturers who mass advertise to sell their product. This internal battery 1 GB MPS is perfect for my active lifestyle. I take it everywhere. The software is simple - like drag and drop, easy to change tracks. I'm very happy -
Digital camera Review: Product Has Both Good and Bad Features Summary: 3 StarsI got this product so that I could listen to podcasts when MP3 files were too large to drop to an Audio CD. I don't like earphones, and this player has an external speaker (or can be used with with earphone provided).
PROS
* The player is easy to load with files. You really don't need even the Creator Lite software that is provided. The player is immediately recognized by Windows when it is plugged into a USB port. You can use the Windows Explorer (file manager) to copy and delete MP3 and certain other file formats on the player.
* The speaker projects remarkably well for such a small player.
CONS
* There is no digital display, so you don't know what file you are on or how far into the file you are.
* The control, which consists of a button in the middle and a circle around it for raising and lowering volume, and fast forwarding and reversing, is sometimes difficult to operate accurately if you have a bigger finger. Sometimes when I pressed fast forward, I apparently pressed something else too, and the player would begin at the beginning again. Very frustrating when I was already well into the file.
* The fast forward and reverse functions are slow. It might take a couple of minutes or more to fast forward or reverse through sixty minutes of a podcast.
The "Plus" version of this player costs about $15 more, but could be a better buy, at least to give some information on the digital display. Pressing the buttons may still be a problem, however. Some of the Plus versions, however, don't come with a "skin" (surrounding cover) with a clip. This seems to be an almost essential requirement for practical use.
UPDATE. I eventually had to give up use of this device because of the small-button problem. I got a SanDisk Sensa m240 MP3 player, which does not have this problem. It's size is a bit bigger, not not an inconvenience; it easily fits into a pocket.
Digital camera Review: Value for the Money Summary: 5 StarsThis player was relatively inexpensive, and so far after owning it for over a month, it has proved to have impressive battery life, and made through the numerous times it has been dropped and banged around while I was working out.
Digital camera Review: Great quality sound and a fantastic price. Summary: 4 StarsI bought this product through the Pepsi promotion and I am overwhelmed with its high quality sound. Several of my friends are wanting me to get them one after they saw it. I had a minor problem setting this item up. However, I sent an email to the manufacturer and they responded by the next morning with simple instructions which let me figure out what I was doing wrong. It has been working wonderful since then. The sound quality is very good with the included headphones. I had bought some aftermarket isolation headphones anyway to make the bass stand out even more.
I don't think you can go wrong at this price for a unit that holds 1GB of music. I have 74 songs on mine and some are over 8 minutes each.
Digital camera Review: Great little mp3 player Summary: 5 StarsCreative Zen Stone 1 GB MP3 Player (Black)
I have found that this is a great little mp3 player to have around. It has a great sound to it for rock, country, and classical music. Also with some Jazz and Blues music. The bass on the Zen Stone is good for the product. The cost is way better that what most people spend on a i-pod and I feel that the sound quality is just a bit better than that of apple's i-pod. What the i-pod does can also be done by the Zen Stone and it is more affordable than what the i-pod is.
