Digital camera reviews of Creative Zen X-Fi 32 GB Video MP3 Player with Wireless LAN and Built-In Speaker (Black/Silver)Digital camera Review: Creative Customer Service Summary: 3 Stars
The sound and features of the ZEN X-Fi 32GB player are great. But, the build quality leaves a LOT to be desired.
I switched to it from a Zune, which is a HUGE pain to get your music onto, versus the ZEN's easy Windows interface.
Unfortunately, the ZEN began acting up within a few days of the purchase. It had to be "re-set" every 2 or 3 days.
I am also very disappointed in battery life. The zune would play continuously for more than 24-hours. The ZEN gives
up the ghost in as little as 6-hours, so I have to carry a charger everywhere I go.
Then, less than 2-months after I bought it (July 30, 2010) it crapped out and would not power on. The ZEN folks walked me
through a raft load of recovery techniques over about a week, and the THING still wouldn't work.
So, (SIGH/GROAN/MOAN) I sent it back to them on October 22nd. I waited around for about a week, thinking they'd at least email
and let me know WHASSUP! No such luck. Nobody told me that unless I check Creative's "STATUS" web site I'd NEVER find out anything.
When I finally figured out it was ALL ON ME, I checked their web and discovered that I hadn't supplied all the info they needed, so
they placed things "on hold."
Again, it's clear that if I hand't followed up, Creative would have let me slowly twist in the wind for God knows how long.
After supplying the missing info I'm STILL WAITING!!!
My next step is to try to get a refund and buy something else. It won't be another Zune, for sure. So, that leaves the IPOD, which
I've avoided because I hate to deal with monolithic corporations whose standard response to customer problems in my experience is "STUFF IT!"
BUT, doesn't look like I have a lot of choice.
If the ZEN was as rugged and reliable as the ZUNE I got rid of, it would be ideal.

So there is a lot of MP3 players out there and I just about owned them all and this is by far the best out there. The ipod doesn't come close to the sound quality or the features that this player has. The profesional grade headphones are a definite plus. The X-Fi sound processor far surpasses all other players. Video quality is top notch as well. The only reason I didn't give it 10's across the board is that there is a learning curve to over come. At first it's difficult to navigate and figure out what buttons do what and transfering music and videos is not as easy as most player's but once you over come this feat, you will have no problems. It's all second nature to me now. Just be patient and play around with it. It's a highly advanced and more than capable player for the price. I highly recommend it.

This is my first MP3 player.Thought the directions were a little assuming for a first time user eventually figured it out on my own. I think it should have come with a case, which I have now purchased separate. Don't know if it has games available, haven't got that far yet. Overall I'm happy with it.

The controls are wack - too small! Very low level user friendly for a person with avergae sized fingers
Digital camera Review: Creative Zen X-Fi 32 GB MP3 player Summary: 4 Stars
I recently purchased this Zen player as an alternative to an iPod touch for use with the Napster subscription service. The iPod has too many limitations with anything other than purchased mP3 tracks. The main two issues that I had was with the limiation of the sound quality (64kbps only!!) and the inability to pick up from the previous stopping point in a playlist. Come to find out, this is just what you have to accept if you want to use an actual iPod device with this service. This is what set me on a search for some other player. I decided to take a chance and try the Zen X-Fi when I saw that it was on Napsters approved devices list. I was not thrilled to be limited to a handfull of choices, but I also didn't want to invest thousands of dollars in purchased MP3 tracks in order to get a wide assortment of music to listen to.
I will admit that the Zen had me a little frustrated with all of its navigation buttons. At first, none of them seemed to be intuitive in how they operated. However, after using it for a couple of days, I mastered the buttons and it is far easier than I first encountered.
The main thing that blew me away was the sound quality! It put the iPod to shame!!!! This player was a very good choice. It provides me with the functionality and sound quality that I was searching for. I plan to by one for my wife and my parents.
Be sure to give it a fair chance when you first use it. If you do, you will get past the initial frustration with the navigation functions and then you will find that it all works pretty simple and sounds absolutely great. I was blown away when I played it through my big home theater system.
