I purchased a Creative Zen XFi2 MP-3 and was told that I could download audia books on it. After a month of talking to technical support and the net library techs I was very surprised to find out that I would need a Zen Xfi MP-3 to download the books. I was told by the 3rd tech that the audio books cannot be downloaded to the XFi2. I returned the XFi2 and received my XFi and liked it a lot better than the XFi2. Since this was my 3rd MP-3 in 7 years I feel qualified to review it. It was easier to operate and after downloading the user guide and learning how to use the buttons, I found it just took a little using to get use to and to really enjoy it. The playing quality is very clear. The only thing that I found that I didn't like is the fact that it took me 20 minutes to get it out of the packageing. I'm very happy with the Creative Zen XFi overall. It's a replacement for my Creative Zen V, so I love the bigger screen & the superior sound quality amongst other things. My only disappointment is that it's not possible to attach a lanyard (which actually came with the Zen V). It's light enough to wear around the neck, which I had intended to do when out walking (as I used to with the Zen V), but that's not possible now - I'm not inclined to get the armband accessory, as I've read in the reviews that it can be too big for smaller/thinner arms. I bought this item from a seller on ebay. I know that it wasn't a authorized seller, but just a normal individual like you and me. I had this player for less that 20 days when it went dead. I spoke with Creative customer support and they said that they wont honor any warranty even though I was the first one to register the product. In the 20 days it worked, the X Fi chewed up its battery like no tomorrow. It would always quit or lock up. I don't believe it is a solid product. I have an Ipod 32 now and am tickled pink with its features and quality. Stay away from all Creative products unless you want a hockey puck or coaster. Mark my words fair consumers!!!
