This unit seemed like a good purchase due to its small footprint and low price. I purchased two units for my home and have been very disappointed.
The first unit never worked properly: many DVDs simply would not play. Others stopped playing partway through, pausing for 10 seconds or more, or entirely locking up the unit (which required unplugging the power cord to resolve).
The Second unit worked very well for about six months, although for some reason, this one did not have a volume control like the first one did. I was particularly impressed that such an inexpensive machine was able to re-sync the audio track as needed. However, it started doing the same thing as the first unit -- and then it died entirely.
Overall, this product has good features, but it fails miserably in the reliability department.

I bought three units on sale for myself and family. Beleive it or not all three stopped working all in the first year. To be honest one of them is still working but with the sound come and go and only through the SVedeo because the other vedeo outs have no signals. The good news is I got 3 remotes for a semi working unit. No one should ever buy these units and no store should sell them either. WTF... Like many others, I purchased this as a second dvd player (for my bdrm) at a very reasonable price... Well, you get what you pay for! It came out to about 10 bucks a month! I didn't care that it didn't have all the snazzy features of many of the other dvd players out there. I just wanted to watch my movies! So I guess now I will go out and do real research and purchase a higher end dvd player just so it will last over 25 movie viewings! I bought this CyberHome DVD player as a quick fix, I never bought it as a long-term solution. Even a budget DVD player should have worked better than this has though.
I will say that at this DVD player's most primitive aspect (i.e., playing movies only), it does the job it's supposed to. However, don't try and make your movie experience any more enjoyable by running the sound through your surround sound system. I did and it only created problems.
"Like what?" you may be asking.
Well, somehow--I never claim to be an expert in the way of any electronic device but I do know how they work--the sound stopped coming through. I figured it was just my surround sound so I ran it through to my TV, still nothing. I actually had to buy new RCA plugs just to be able to watch anything with sound. The problem has persistently come back though.
Then there's the random power-offs. The first couple times I figured, "Ah, power surges." When it kept happening I then resorted to thinking I just had a bad unit, so I mentioned it to a friend who has one and he said his was doing the same thing. I know it's possible that both units are faulty but it'd be rare, and after reading a few reviews and further asking around, I've found that, even with the former problem, I'm not the only one.
I don't recommend this DVD player the least bit. If you MUST have one immediately and this is what you can afford, okay, but go in knowing you better save up to get a better one ASAP. The remote and features are all user friendly and take no time to get use to, which is nice. Past that, the bad--at least for me--far outweighs the good.

I own 2 of these inexpensive Cyberhome DVD Players. I bought them because they can play Multi Regions... Meaning I can watch DVD's from Europe, Asia etc. I have had my 2 Cyberhome Units for over 2 years now and thus far they still work great. The Picture playback using a Pal German Movie was perfect and the sound Quality is good.... I would highly recommend this anytime for someone who isn't looking to spend a fortune on a DVD Player that will play all Regions... This is a great buy...
