Digital camera reviews of Cyberhome Region Free 110/220v Progressive Scan DVD Player, CH-DVD 300

Digital camera Review: Plays everything but won't last long
Summary: 3 Stars

We've had several of this DVD player, all breaking down within less then a year. It's true that it plays everything, including all region codes and it is small - that's why we kept replacing it with the same model. But all we owned had similar problems: after a while it stopped reacting to buttons (one never opened the DVD slot any more), or played the DVDs "broken up". So now I'm lookiing for a new model that can do the same but wont' need to be replaced all the time.

Digital camera Review: Poor machine
Summary: 1 Stars

Very choppy video playing - sort of a freeze frame effect, especially on panned shots. Also background sound cuts in and out. Freezes the video frequently. I plan to return it.

Digital camera Review: Pretty SOlid
Summary: 4 Stars

I've had this DVD player for over a year and havent had any problems with it. Bought it at Best Buy for 30 bucks and havent had any issues with it. DVD's all look crisp and no bad connections or anything like that. good deal, good dvd player

Digital camera Review: Region Free and Pal Support
Summary: 4 Stars

I bought the DVD player as second player next to my Sony for the single purpose of being able to play my European DVDs (Region Code 2, PAL) with it.

The DVD quality for regular RC1/NTSC is not very impressive and I would not recommend it just for this purpose, but if you have to play foreign DVDs and don't want the hassle, this DVD player is the way to go.

Digital camera Review: Small box and Big Satisfaction
Summary: 5 Stars

Like most I depend not only on descriptions from the mfg, but also the
customer feedback. I decided the price was right to see for myself. When it arrived I was surprised at the small size of the unit. I read the directions, connected cables, and put in the DVD. My only setback was I didn't know how to change the region settings. Here's my experience with customer servive. This unit comes preset for Region One and has to be changed in the menu to play other DVD's. I had trouble finding the exact place in the manuel and even wondered if I have the right player. I emailed them that night and by morning the answer was in my inbox. I followed the instructions and viola! I was at the menu page for region settings. I selected the region I wanted and my movies played perfectly.
I later went through the manuel and felt like an idiot when I found the page that gave info on how to get to DVD settings. Yet, it was nice to know they gave me great service and quick turn around on my questions. Now back to the operation of the unit. I used the cables that came with the unit to hook it to my television. The remote is very lightweight, slim, and easy to use. I am currently enjoying my UK movies and I believe I made a good economical choice.
