Digital camera reviews of D-Link DBT-120 Wireless Bluetooth 2.0 USB Adapter

Digital camera Review: Adapter works, Drivers don't
Summary: 1 Stars

The bluetooth adapter works fine with the generic XP SP2 drivers. The drivers that come on the cd with the adapter do not install properly and are't even needed if you have SP2. I didn't find this out until I found the info on the internet. Dlink Tech support was not aware of this. If you buy this product don't install the drivers from the cd. It's ironic I bought dLink because I didn't want to go though driver hell.

Digital camera Review: Adding BlueTooth to a Mac...this just works!
Summary: 5 Stars

I ordered this to support an Apple BlueTooth Keyboard with an older Mac Pro. I plugged it into an external USB hub, turned on the keyboard, and was using it in less than a minute.

What more could I ask?

Digital camera Review: Adds Bluetooth headset support to older Mac
Summary: 5 Stars

I purchased this product from Amazon in May 2007 to add Bluetooth headset and iSync capabilities to an older Mac. It's a Rev C version (System Profiler reports "Manufacturer: Cambridge Silicon Radio"), with black and orange trim, not the older gray and blue D-Link motif. It works great on Mac OS X 10.4.9 on a G4 Dual 1GHz "Quicksilver" with a USB 2.0 PCI card or plugged into the USB 1.1 keyboard; no software install needed. Supports the Bluetooth Headset profile for programs like iChat audio and I'm now using it with a Plantronics phone headset (not stereo headphones). It also works well for iSync with a phone.

Some other Bluetooth USB adapters that support headsets on Windows are not necessarily supported on Mac.

Digital camera Review: Adequate, but could be better.
Summary: 3 Stars

I purchased this product to use with the new Apple Wireless Keyboard & Mouse that I received. I have a Quicksilver G4, kinda old, so I needed to add the bluetooth capability to make the peripherals work. I read many positive and negative reviews for this product but ultimately, I bought it because that's explicitly what Apple recommended.

It works just fine when connected. The only problems I have come with the computer being in sleep mode. I can no longer wake up the machine using the mouse of keyboard like I could with the connected keyboard & mouse. So it's a little frustrating to have to touch the screen every time instead of simply jiggling the mouse or hitting a key. I don't know if this is a universal problem with bluetooth or it's just my system, but either way it bugs the crap out of me.

Digital camera Review: After a few updates, works perfectly
Summary: 5 Stars

I had to go to the D-link website and download the new drivers because they have had problems with WinXP trying to use it's own drivers and there is a problem with the MAC address certification. so that would explain why a lot of people have been having problems getting this to work.
But after I installed the new D-link drivers I have had perfect preformance ever since. it communicates with my Motorola RAZR V3 perfectly, I can transfer pics, audio, video, and internet connection with no problems. the range is also impressive. and the interface is pretty easy to use. I have always been a fan of D-link. their Tech-support has a lot to be desired, but when you get the product to work I have never had problems afterwards.
