Digital camera reviews of D-Link DGL-4300 Wireless 108G Gaming Router

Digital camera Review: Best yet.
Summary: 5 Stars

The DGL-4300 allows me to connect 3 XBox360s and two original XBoxs to XBox Live all at the same time through one cable connection. No problems with the NAT and no disconnects. Its easier to set up than any other Router I've tried with clear instructions that even my wife could follow. Before the DGL 4300 I was not able to get just two XBoxes connected without disconnect and NAT problems and had tried Netgears FVS338, Linksys's WRT54G, Dlink's DI-614+, DI-804HV and DI-624 and even fiddled with a Cisco Pix 501. One of the XBOX360's is located across the street and connecting wirelessly with no noticable lag. Its really the best router I've ever owned.

Digital camera Review: Cannot go wrong with this one!
Summary: 5 Stars

I have had this router for close to 4 years, and its still rock solid. Never gets hot to the touch, soldiering away with wired and wireless clients on it all the time. I currently have 2 windows 7 based computers, a windows home server and an old macmini all coexisting peacefully and transferring files at the weakest links speed.

I don't play games on the internet though so I wouldn't know about pings and stuff, but its nice to know that its all there should I need it.

Its truly an awesome product, must buy if you are looking for something like this.

Digital camera Review: Close to 4 years and going strong
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this router probably close to 4 years ago and it has been going strong since then. This has to be the most stable router I've ever owned. I can run torrents, usenet, games, etc all at the same time if I wanted and things still seem smooth. I've never had to reboot it in the entire time I've owned it. Of the maybe 4 or 5 times I've rebooted it, I found out that was not the problem (at least 2 or 3 times I had to do a DHCP release and renew on my internet connection). I've been quite impressed by this router...so impressed that I still haven't replaced it with a router that runs DD-WRT despite the fact that I'm using another router that way as a bridge. I've played around with the QoS a bit, but really I know better than to try and play games and download at the same time. It seems to work quite well while doing that, but it's still not something I'd want to push. It has all the usual features you'd expect (port triggering, forwarding, IP reservations based on MAC address, MAC filtering, WEP, WPA, WPA2, etc).

Really I don't care as much about the features as I do about how incredibly stable this thing is. I came from an old Linksys wireless router and this thing was godsend. At one point I think we literally had to reboot the old Linksys DAILY if not more than once daily. I won't really need to replace this sucker until it dies and it seems to be well built so it could be a while.

Digital camera Review: Could not get it to work wirelessly
Summary: 1 Stars

Now, it is used as a wired router in the house. I gave up on setting the router to work with my laptop after several days of struggle. Unfortunately, I was out on a long vacation when the thing arrived, and so could not return it in time.
A waste of money this, atleast for me.

Digital camera Review: D-Link DGL 4300 Wireless Router
Summary: 4 Stars

I bought this to replace my 6 year old Linksys Wireless B router which finally stopped broadcasting. The D-link was recommended by the tech guys at our company. I had no problem installing it, which was a tremendous difference from my Linksys B and another Linksys G router I use elsewhere (not for long). Setting up WEP security was simple and our laptops in the house picked up the signal quickly. We have only used it about a month, but it seems quite good. One house member says it's a bit slow in his room, but the rest of us are happy.
