Digital camera reviews of D-Link DGS-2208 8-Port 10/100/1000 Desktop Switch

Digital camera Review: D-Link Knows Switches
Summary: 5 Stars

I've owned a lot of networking gear in my days. All brands do some things well, and some things not so well. Some brands even fail miserably at certain tasks.

D-Link knows switches. They make em' cheap, they make em' efficient, and they make it last.

I use this switch in my entertainment center, fed by a Ruckus 7111/7811 beam-forming wireless receiver. It delivers connectivity to my Blu-Ray player, XBox, HTPC, and AppleTV without a hitch.

Wouldn't recommend any other brand for an in expensive ethernet switch.

Digital camera Review: D-Link Switch
Summary: 5 Stars

As advertised - plug-and-play! I plugged everything in and it worked perfectly. I chose this particular model for two reasons: 1) it's a D-Link unit and I've been very pleased with all their products and 2) it does not have a fan to add to an already nosiy environment.

I like the 10/100/1000 feature. Ioften send large amount of data and this does the job, quickly and without the need for me to change settings.
Good Product.

Digital camera Review: DGS-2208 - Good solution for inexpensive gigabit
Summary: 4 Stars

The D-Link DGS-2208 is a good solution for upgrading to inexpensive to gigabit capability. Requires that NICs be gigabit capable to take advantage of increased bandwidth, otherwise the switched connections will remain at legacy 100 megabit bandwidths.

Digital camera Review: DGS-2208: ANOTHER QUALITY PRODUCT FROM D-LINK
Summary: 5 Stars

I have a fairly large Local Area Network (LAN)spread out over two floors that required 12 ethernet ports. I purchased two of these D-Link DGS-2208 desktop switches and connected them in tandem for a total of 13 available ports. They replaced 2 Linksys switches that failed within the first year. I purchased these particular units based the following requirements: Neat appearance of installation ( all cabling must enter/exit at rear of switches and be neatly routed and bundled, clean appearance of the D-Link switch, 10/100/1000, and finally the great reliability of other D-Link products that I own.

I have now had these units in service for quite some time, and my LAN has yet to experience a failure. I strongly recommend D-Link for quality and Amazon for the lowest price and fastest service.
