Digital camera reviews of D-Link EBR-2310 Ethernet Broadband Router

Digital camera Review: Failed utterly for me
Summary: 1 Stars

I am not sure if I got a lemon or not, but regardless of how I configured this, I had no luck accessing more than three websites at any given time. I changed my DNS settings three times (including using the ones that were sent from TimeWarner via DHCP, of course), and even when connected directly to the router, it just choked after 2-3 DNS queries. Sometimes it would recover a few minutes later, but usually I had to restart the router. It was a total pain and, sadly, has forced me to reconsider my recommendation of D-Link's products, which I have been using for over seven years.

I hope their other products work--it sounds like other folks have had better luck with this router, that's for sure--but my experience was a terrible one. I ended up going with a NetGear Dual Band Wireless router, the 3300.

good luck--if you get this, keep your receipt and packaging materials. I was an idiot and got rid of mine when the package arrived.

Digital camera Review: Fails its one job: routing packets
Summary: 1 Stars

I ordered this item to replace my existing router with one that handled a WAN port of over 10mbps. Since I already have a separate firewall, all I need this to do is to provide simple routing from the connection I get from my ISP to my firewall. I set the device up, and put it into place. Things worked fine for a little while, then DNS attempts started timing out, downloads started failing, and pings weren't always getting a response. After a great deal of troubleshooting I found that source of the problem was the brand new router. So, I put the old router back into place and requested a replacement from Amazon.

In my great surprise, the replacement router suffered from the same problem. A very easy way for me to trigger the router's instability:
1) set up router. 2) plug in computer connected to router. 3) download and install "namebench", a free program for benchmarking DNS servers. 4) start pinging an external address that you know should respond, such as [...]. 5) run the namebench, and watch the pings start to fail.

Do not buy this router. You will be disappointed and frustrated when it stops working.

For my small enterprise I ended up purchasing this Cisco Small Business RV042 Dual WAN VPN Router - Router + 4-port switch - Ethernet, Fast Ethernet - external. It is 4 times the price but infinitely more useful since it actually works.

Digital camera Review: Free From The Hassel
Summary: 5 Stars

I had two LinkSys routers prior to purchasing the D-Link router. Until I installed the D-Link router I thought there was no way to connect without starting and restarting. Both experiences with the LinkSys routers were utter frustration.
Not so with D-Link. I installed it, ran it and it worked the first time and every time since then. It's a great product and the price was less than each of the other two routers.
I highly recommend D-Link...you can't go wrong.

This little router has worked like a charm. I have absolutely no complaints about it. The low price makes me smile.

Digital camera Review: Good Router

Great price on this router. My computer technician went to Best Buy and suggested that I get this one. I knew I could find it cheaper on Amazon. And sure enough, I saved quite a bit! Thanks Amazon. Great router, and easy to install.
