Digital camera Review: Great adapter with D-link router

I got this router for my blu-ray player and it works great for BD-Live and Firmware updates. It was easy to setup, anyone having difficulty with this router, I recommend downloading the manual from dlink's website. That was probably the most helpful manual instead of the manual that came with this adapter. I can't comment use with routers outside D-link, as I use a Dlink DGL-4300. It works great and was at a great price. It setup for WPA you do have to do that manually in the setup, not in the setup wizard. I did go through the wizard once and then setup security manually that way. Worked great for me. So you got the Xbox 360 and you don't want to spend the extra $85-100 for a wireless game adapter. Well, this is the product for you. Sadly, Amazon doesn't have the good price anymore ($[...]) but [...] does, for now anyway.
When I hooked this up the first time the system had no trouble recognizing it but it didn't connect automatically. After connecting it to the available wireless network in the house (less than 2 minutes to figure out and set up and I'm not a tech wizard at all) it worked great. The connection is solid and has no speed lag.
The downside is obvious, this thing is bigger than the USB-powered Microsoft adapter and it can't attach itself to the Xbox in any way. It's basically like a small wireless router, without the wireless part. You have to connect an Ethernet cable to the box and you have to connect a separate power adapter as well. It does take up some room but it's really not that big of a problem, for me anyway.
Don't buy into the whole "this only works with other D-Link products" line either. That's not true at all. I'm using a Netgear wireless router and this adapter had no problem connecting to it.
You might not want to by this here though, unless Amazon gets more of them and gets the price back down. You should only pay about $46 for it, at most.

WOW! Regular XBOX worked great with no setup needed. Plug it in, connect network cable to xbox and away you go. Down side....I couldn't get it to work with my XBOX 360, the reason I bought it. Ok the redeemer in this is it works for playstation and on some computers (not with vista) un plugging and moving to different item, no problem. Oh the biggest find is when I hooked it to my DISHNETWORK box and with just going to the network setup on the dishnetwork box it found the network right away. Oh range...at least 45 away (3 rooms with metal studs) still a good signal. A 5 star rating for this product, d-link got it right.
