Summary: 5 Stars
10/12/09 Have had the DLO for a few days, and am actually quite pleased. The leather looks just like the photo, and the stitching seems relatively well done. In fact, for the most part, the construction is quite good. The leather covered steel clip is [so far] secure, and deep enough [approx. 2" ] to handle most belts. Bought it for my iPhone 3GS, and it's a snug [but not tight] fit, and still allows enough slip to remove it [for a call] with little resistance. I also purchased a "SHIELD" brand shell [from Amazon] for it, and although it's a bit more snug, it still slides out with minimal effort, due to the open slot at the bottom center of the case, where you're able to help pop it up. I would have given it a full 5 STARS, were it not for the fact that those corners are still too exposed, so I do have to agree with that one complaint that prior reviews have mentioned. OTOH, though..... this "dropping" issue, and the lack of protection, is more a problem of the user's poor grip on the phone, rather than an inherent weakness of the case. Overall, I'm very pleased with this purchase...
UPDATE dtd 12/04/09 After daily use, I've decided to give it the full "5 STARS", since [as I had mentioned above] the corner protection has little to do with the case, and everything to do with the user. It would seem to me that if you're going to be handling a $200-$300 iPhone G3 S that carelessly, then there's really no case that will protect it from you! LOL!! Get a grip!! Take care of it, and don't drop it! So far, the leather, stitching, and belt clip are all working the way they should. And the "Shield" polycarbonate case has a "soft" finish that will reduce the potential for the iPhone to slip out of your hands, and it still fit's very snugly within this DLO case!! Thumbs up!! You won't be disappointed!!
