At this point, I have been using this iPod case for 15 months. I remain completely satisfied with this purchase in every respect. Now with long term daily use I can attest to its durability. This case was much better than I expected and I'm quite pleased with my purchase.
The case is attractive and well made of good materials and fits my iPod 5.5 / 30GB Video well. No, you can't use the hold button but you don't need to do with this case - the flap prevents anything from turning on accidently. Flipping it up when the headphones are in does create a little stiffness at the top but not enough to impead its purpose and the case does not get in the way of my FM Tramsitter either. This is a good solid choice - and more attractive, functional, and cheap compared to other cases that I looked at.

I just bought my 30GB video ipod and after reading glowing reviews for this case, I bought it and I couldn't be happier with it!! It is such an attractive case and I love how the flap closes via a magnet...it reassures your ipod is protected from scratching and won't turn on unexpectedly. I am so delighted with this case!! It is exactly what I was looking for!! And it isn't bulky...it fits perfectly in my purse!! This seems to be the best case I've found for the 30 GB iPod Video. The leather fits snugly, but allows easy access to all ports. The leather is soft with a very nice look and feel.
Problems: As you can see in the picture, the case leaves some parts of the iPod exposed. The leather protects from bumps and scratches but does little in an all-out drop. I suggest purchasing a clear screen cover in addition to prevent scuffs while the case is "open". Also, the belt clip, while useful, is not detachable. Finally, the unique design of the top makes the use of any type of headphones besides the usual iPod style very difficult, and it tends to bend the cord when the case is opened.
