Very good price and quick service from 3rd party seller (Jerseycloseout). I needed it to replace my old Dell Axim X30 which broke it's screen after dropping to a brick floor!
Unfortunately, the apps and much of the data for Windows Mobile 2003 are incompatible with Version 5.0, including the system backup files. That required new downloads and installs from my PC.
The Axim X51v (Dell Axim X51v PDA 624 MHz Processor, 256MB ROM / 64MB SDRAM, 3.7 inches 480*640 VGA TFT Color LCD, BlueTooth / WiFi 802.11b/Infrared) has excelent graphics, and is much faster than my old X30, and has more on-board memory. The Wi-Fi is also excellent. I recommend it higly for anyone needing a PDA without phone capabilities.

I bought this mainly to access internet when traveling. I have never crashed and have access to all my favorite websites. The calendar and task functions are great. I use a 512mb SD card. The original battery was more than sufficient, but I bought a 2200mah battery which lasts for days. I have no complaints.Digital camera Review: Excellent PDA

I purchased this PDA 4 months ago and I can tell you it's the best companion you can have after few updates from www. Aximsite.com (I highly recommend Rom A12 and fake server technique to control the active synchronization and most important remove the odyssey client from your start up windows ... all at aximsite) . it is quick, elegant and intelligent. Am a graduate student (MDs) and we do a lot of literature and this piece of technology helped me a lot.. it had 2 memories (CF, SD) so there is a lot of space and many soft ware can be installed and function smoothly (check Pocket-Pc-magazine) it organize your schedule, keep u always in connection (blue tooth, WL) But you have to be patient you need to know few tweaks to customize it (having a nice today screen and so on..) do not forget to get a durable aluminum or magnesium case to protect your expensive PDA and screen protector... be aware that extended battery need special case (it increases the width of your machine) finally if you not always away from a desk (like in my case:) no need to have the travel kit I really wasted its cost cause I had 2 extra battery no need for car charging also hard cases is elegant and more protective than one fancy leather case...another piece I wasted its cost:( over all am happy with it. I wish also that you do (x51v is the last model in Dell PC they do not manufacture it any more but technical service is available) especially if your are not a follow to the high edge machines.. cause HTC, O2 dose not give break to any wallet to get fat...Digital camera Review: Excellent device for doctors

Tips for those moving from PalmOS to PPC:
- Add a launcher (I prefer iLauncher but there are free options)
- Use StyleTap to run valuable Palm-only apps (like GrowthCharts, Riley Kidometer, List, etc)
- Check good forums for advice and fast learning curve, like [...]
- Use a screen protector and an external case from the first time. Don't risk your costly device. Backup your data regularly.
