Digital camera reviews of Delphi SA10001 XM SKYFi BoomboxDigital camera Review: Great Sound Quality! Summary: 5 Stars
One words sums it up, GREAT!
This boombox for XM I have with my SkyFi receiver. The kit includes easy directions, a 20 foot "small folding black box antena" (size of a box of smokes), and adapter to plug in. It also can use D Cell Batteries to take out and about.
The signal is so strong from XM that I have the antenna right on my table about 10 feet from the window! The sound quality is that of CD.
And with the upcoming MLB baseball season, you can take this anywhere and hear your team play as XM will play each and every game from spring training up to the world series! Plus a 24/7 live baseball talk channel!
Keep in mind you need an XM receiver to make this work. I have the Delphi SA5000.
You won't be disappointed, nor will the person you buy this for as a gift! One of the Top American car makers has a contract to put XM in their automobiiles, and XM stock is rising. So that should tell you something about the popularity of XM radio!
Digital camera Review: Great item, great deal Summary: 5 Stars
I have had my XM Radio in the car for about a year now and I cannot beleive that I waited this long to get it in my home. The Boom Box is easy to use and has great audio. It took about 2 minutes to set up (you do not have to attach the antenna to the outside of your house or anything, just point it the right way) and now it works great. We do not have a regular stereo system because all we really need is the XM! If you have the SkyFi, this is an excellent way to get XM in your house. I have not tried using it yet, but you can also put batteries in it and take it with you. The antenna neatly attaches to the Boom Box, so if I were to do that, I am sure it would be easy. Highly recommended!
Digital camera Review: Great product, lousy volume control Summary: 4 Stars
Everything about this unit is great except for the volume control. As I turn it up, the volume number will usually go down, or not move at all. Sometimes I am lucky and it will go up. I've tried turning it slowly, one click at a time and still have problems. If you buy this unit, just be aware that the volume control has problems. Once you get it to the correct volume, everything else is perfect. It even runs on batteries, so you can take it out on the go. I usued this for my car stereo until I got the FM modulator.
Digital camera Review: Great radio for the money Summary: 5 Stars
I was looking for a portable receiver for my Skyfi 2 tuner, needed something simple, and this fit the bill. After reading reviews about it here and on other websites (60% good, 40% bad) I was hesitant but decided to try it out. What the heck, if my wife is getting XM for her car I should have a little treat...
Worked as advertised! I got it out of the box, put the receiver in, turned it on, and enjoyed the music. The noise some people have talked about wasn't there, but the crisp CD quality that I enjoy in my car was.
The only problem I had was with the antenna...the mount for it on the back of the radio isn't real secure, so my antenna can fall off (a little Velcro fixed that). I wish they had put the antenna connection on the outside rather than on the inside of the battery compartment (oh, well), but otherwise I enjoy the heck out of it!
Digital camera Review: Great sound, no audio problems Summary: 5 Stars
I'm using the boombox with the SkyFi2 receiver. Originally I had some qualms about this boombox due to the reviews on this site, but I needed a portable solution for my apartment as well as for trips out of town.
Well, after receiving my boombox, I must admit that it's a wonderful piece of hardware. I have absolutely NO problems with any hissing or audio problems.
The sound is crisp and clear. Bass is adequate and provides enough fullness to the sound. Stereo effects are noticable. The boombox is also pretty neat looking and matches perfectly with the SkyFi2 receiver. Integration between boombox and receiver is perfect.
The back of the receiver has space to store the 20' of antenna cord for when you take trips out. It is a slight pain to open the cover to access the antenna cord, but I don't think it's as big a deal as others may make it out to be.
Overall, I've been very pleased with my boombox and am happy I picked this over the home kit (which is not nearly as portable or flexible).
Highly recommended accessory to your SkyFi or SkyFi2.
