I ordered the 12x10x8.5 because I needed something to fit my 9inch divided lunch plate for when I carry dinner like lunches to work with veggies and a meat. I work all day and then have class after 8 hours of work. I don't have to worry about food because this bag fits enough food for a full day. Just playing with the bag I was able to fit my divided plate, 3-20oz coke bottles, 2 yogurts, 2 cans of soup, and a large ice pack. Then I used the included divider and put 4 small lunch bowls of fruit and 2 bags of popcorn on the top. I don't need that much stuff, but I just wanted to see what I could fit in there. My kitten even tried to jump in lol. It does have a slight odor that smells like an inflatable swimming pool and the strap doesnt seem like it would be strong enough to hold heavy items all day, like if it were to be worn all day. It would be fine on a trip where the bag was just sitting though. It is overall a good product and I am very happy with it.
