Digital camera reviews of Duracell Instant Power Charger for USB Compatible DevicesDigital camera Review: A great gift! Summary: 5 Stars
I got one of these as a trial unit and realized this would make a great gift or stocking stuffer! It is very small and seems to hold about two charges for an iPhone refill. Since it has a USB port, any USB device should be able to charged with it.
Digital camera Review: A must for those needing extra power for media players Summary: 5 Stars
I bought two of these. Couldn't beat the price. They are small, about the size of a pack of Trident or Dentine chewing gum. They come with a standard male USB to mini male USB cable. They work great with my touch-screen media player. I couldn't give them a Palm Pre rating as I don't own a Palm but otherwise they are pretty good. Time will tell how long they will last but I assume they will have a charge-recharge cycle like any other Lion battery.
The one small drawback to these babies is there is a switch that you have to turn on when you are ready to use them as an additional battery. The instructions caution to remember to turn the switch off when not in use to prevent unintended discharge of the Lion battery. The switch is the reason for the four star "Ease of Use" rating. Maybe I am being picky but it is just a little annoying having to remember to turn that switch off. I would think that they could have built-in an auto-on sensor that would detect when the battery was attached to a device and turn it on.
Once the unit is connected to your device and switched on there is a dual colour LED that indicates the relative amount of power left in the Duracell battery. It's green when full power is available and it turns orange when the power is getting low.
My son tried one with his iPhone and said it didn't work. I don't see why it wouldn't and haven't had a chance to investigate but I suspect he might have forgotten to turn on the power switch mentioned above.
Digital camera Review: A must have Summary: 5 Stars
I make sure I pack and take this device everywhere I go. I haven't really figured out how long the charge lasts, but for now very pleased

Digital camera Review: Amazing utility, Wish it held a charge better Summary: 3 Stars
This little device is just about one of the most useful things I've ever bought here. It's simple, easy to use, and easy to ferret away into briefcases, purses, and glove boxes for emergency and travel power needs. Also, it has a convenient on/off switch to prevent power drain while the unit is idle for long periods of time.
The price seems to have gone up (I remember buying it for about 12.95) so I would have to give it a middle of the road rating for value, simply because of the unit's major drawback: after about 6 months of semi-regular use (3-4 times a month), the unit doesn't seem to hold more than about 40-50% of the charge it used to. My iPod and Nook can both run it dry without being fully charged as they used to, which is a shame. The little charger that could is still useful, but I would have to say probably not worth 30 dollars. As always, your mileage may vary so it might be worth it for you. May your batteries always be charged, and your flash drive always be full!
Digital camera Review: Awesome Summary: 5 Stars
The battery is great. I have a first gen 16gig i Pod touch and it basically doubles the battery life.
