I purhcsed the blue ball and enjoyed it for about one hour. Then when starting it with the string, it became jamed on the side of the gyro inside the ball. After I freed it, the plastic tip on the chord remained inside. Oh well, there is a tip on the other end of the string. Well that theory worked until the string became jamed once again and that time also remained jamed inside the ball. Now I have two ends trapped inside the ball that may someday jam something. Now, I'm unable to get it stated without the string. So, now I have a $40 dust collector. They need to send you extra strings to start it. We already have one of those, but we leave it in France when we move to USA, my husband would like to have another one so we bought this one!
He was a little bit disappointed when he use it the first time, it does not seems to work as well as the one he had before. He thought that maybe the light tend to slow a little bit the powerball. The ball made a noise a little bit weird too.
Overall I think he would prefer the same ball but without the light.

What a deceptive looking little gizmo! This innocuous little ball will give you a real workout! We found that we needed to experiment until we got the 'feel' of the correct motion. (It took us awhile.) I was ready to give up, thinking our powerball was defective. WRONG! WE were defective. This is not 'exercise for dummies', even the smart and coordinated among us took awhile to get the hang of it. We still can't give it the thumb flick startup that looks so easy in the video, but I'm sure that at least one of us will figure that out soon. Now even the least athletic among us is now able to get it going and keep it going. The best instructions, unfortunately, do NOT come with the powerball, but are easily found via internet. I liked it a lot.
In the beggining, it took me some time to realize how to start and hold it, but afterwards i just kept using it over and over.
I was once upset with the difficulty to start it and all the noises that it made, so decided to put in some wd-40 to soften its roll... bad idea, it went too loose. So i've openned it (it's easy to) and dryed it all. Now it works better, but doesn't get all the rpms it used to.
And after using it so hardly i have hurt my wrist. Now can only use it with my left arm, until the right one gets healthy again.
Well, i recommend its use, but wisely ;-)
