If your looking for a self charging light that will hold a charge, this is the one for you! It states that 60 seconds of winding will give you 1 hour of light. Well I ordered two of these flash lights and gave one to a friend. The first time I used mine I wound it up for about 20 to 30 seconds and turned it on to see how bright the light was and how long it would last. Well it was 6:00 pm when I first turned it on, it kept running and running. I finnally left it on and set it on the counter. Two hours later it was still running. I took it into my bedroom and set it on the dresser. I figured it would go out in no time. Well I checked it at 9:30pm and it was still running. At 10:00 pm I turned it off so I could go to bed. I have since pulled it out when I needed a light and guess what, IT STILL WORKS!!!!! My friend had the same results when he wound his up. Forget ever needing batteries again!!!!!!!!! A friend of mine demonstrated hers outside one night... Wow! What a great product!! The LED's are very bright and it's easy on arthritic hands. You don't really need to wind it for the full 30 - 60 seconds for it to work right away. A must have!! Think of the money you could save in batteries!!
