Digital camera Review: Doesn't work on Dell Inspiration 530 64 bit
Summary: 1 Stars

I wanted to upgrade the cludgy on board video on my Dell530 Inspiration w/ Vista 64 bit. I added a new power 500W supply. According to Dell the onboard video does not need to be disabled. I insterted the new card, reconnected the video cable to the new adapter. Windows loaded a plain VGA driver. I then used the CD to to do the driver update. Windows took almost 20 minutes to reboot. When it did I got a black screen. I rebooted again and checked the BIOS. The bios fonts were almost unreadable. I checked to see if the PCI Express card was recognized. It was. I finished rebooting, and still a black screen. Then I got the - failure to start- Vista repair screen. The NVIDIA instructions suggest that the screen is caused when the onboard controller is not disabled either in the BIOS or in Windows. At this point I skipped further tinkering to find out if I could get the system running at all. I did. So then I started all over again, but this time disabled the onboard video adapter in Windows (this was a mistake). I got another black screen when I put the new card back in. Frustrated I pulled the card out, reset the cables, rebooted the computer and found that Windows would not load at all. I had to shut off the power supply to shut the compter down. This prompted windows to start it's system repair tool for which I was eventually asked if I wanted to use a previous restore point. Finally back to normal
The next day, I tried again. This time I let Windows updated the NVIDIA driver via the web. But no luck.
One moral is make a system restore point before you tackle this.

When I booted up with the NVIDIA card inserted properly etc, I noticed a pinhole pattern spread across the inital Windows Logo. The fonts in the bios are almost unreadable. I suspected a bent pin or pin adapter - none found. So I don't know why it wont' work, but it won't at all.
I dont't even know if I should try to return.

Digital camera Review: Dual monitor graphics card
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this to use 2 monitors. Easy to install. ( took only a few minutes ) With the software installed I am quite pleased with performance and flexability. Much less expensive than other cards with the same memory and specs. ( I am not a gamer and have nothing to compare it with but I think you would be happy with the resolution and performance of this unit especially if you are on a budget.)

Digital camera Review: EVGA once again delivers a very substantial product at an affordable price.
Summary: 5 Stars

EVGA has always been a great upgrade card because they manufacture quality items at very good prices. This card is no exception. The installation is easy only taking up 1 PCIe x16 slot. There is small fan just over the processor. The memory is only DDR2 which is ample for most games. The really nice part is that this card allows older machines to catch up to Direct X 10. I tried it with Vista 64 and it installed just fine. I also tried it with Vista 32 and had no issues. I did not try it with XP.
