Digital camera Review: Awesome Gaming Card, But....

First off, this card is amazing. The speed at which it processes game graphics, renders 3-D, performs shading, etc. There's nothing like it out there. It blows the socks off ATI cards hands down - no competition. How do I know? Well, a friend of mine has one and I frequently visit him and enjoy some multi-hour gaming sessions. So I thought I would purchase one of these gems for my computer. Thats where it turned ugly... GO TO THE EVGA WEBSITE AND RESEARCH THE CARD! First of all it requires a PCI-Express slot on your machines motherboard. It is NOT compatible with a standard PCI slot. That I knew, so basically you need a newer desktop computer. But what I didn't know and what is missing from the system requirements on the Amazon site is that it requires TWO SLOTS! The second slot doesn't need to be a PCI - Express slot, but it must be the next slot over. Why? Because this card is double-wide. The cooling mechanism on this card takes up the space of a whole other slot and vents out the back of the computer. I have a mini tower and I did not have the available second slot to accomodate this card so I had to return it to Amazon and purchase an EVGA GeForce 8600 GTS which only takes up one slot (still a PCI-Express). So do your research first and avoid a compatibility issue.
