It does an OK job vacuuming uncarpeted floor. On carpeted floor, I guess it's OK too, but I could only push but not pull. On both kind of floors, the hose easily falls and ends up on my toe. Why would they use metal to make the detachable hose part but plastic for the part that attaches to the vacuum. Because of the weight, the detachable hose keeps falling if you don't hold it in place. This is a great vacuum. I just ordered a 2nd one for my parents house. Light weight & cleans both smooth floors (mine are ceramic tile) and carpet. Long hose and cord make the vac easy to use everywhere including stairs. My Amazon order was filled by The Factory Depot and arrived in 2 days. I spent a couple of dollars more for the 2nd one so I could order again from The Factory Depot. Second vac arrived the next day after I ordered it. Strong features of this vacuum are its very light weight and its quite adequate power. The relatively low price is also a real "plus." The hose on this vacuum tends to coil on itself, so there's often some effort required to straighten it out. However, the vacuum has a telescoping wand that is terrific for getting into tight places. I've been running the vacuum for only a few weeks, so its long-term performance remains to be seen. However, having had a top-of-the line Hoover require three costly repairs in six years (!) even mid-term endurance for the moderate cost Sanitaire will be a real improvement.Digital camera Review: cleaning products

This vaccum ia GREAT ! I love the fact that it is small and light weight. The suction is as strong as a large canister vaccum and it has an extension pole in the handle. It extends with the push of a button! I am a clean freak and this gets all the corners high in the ceilings and skylights. The extension reaches behind the wall unit and under the couches and baseboards without struggling. The only down side is its loud. I don't mind loud as long as the preformance is good. Electrolux Eureka Sanitaire Commercial Canister Vacuum CleanerI have used this product in other of my offices because it picks up paper clips and has a place for a HEPA filter. This product came with a broken wheel. It is plastic and the plastic tab which held the wheel to the machine was broken. Shoplet sent a Return Authorization promplty, however, the part is $2.50 from Eureka and the box a UPS Store would cost more. Shoplet graciously agreed to accept the vacuum in its entirety but unwilling to simply order the $2.50 part. I ordered myself from Eureka. Seemed like a waist of resources.
