This clock radio is the BOMB...I love it!!! When you plug it in...if you are on the East coast, it sets itself automatically to the present time. You don't have to do anything!! If you are elsewhere on the planet you have to set it with your time zone...it has a radio to wake or a buzzer...if you use the buzzer to wake and want to snooze, you just wave your hand and the snooze activates...really cool!! I didn't even realize this is an "atomic" clock, until it set itself almost immediately when I plugged it in. Got this for my son, so can go to sleep to music. He had no problem learning the controls as a 10 year old. Nice big number display as well.Digital camera Review: Numbers disappearing

Purchased in December 2007, and in less than 6 months have lost the top half of the first digit (top half of the one), and the middle horizontal bar on the second digit (think of an 8 without the center bar). It still tells the appropriate time, if your mind fills in the missing bar. I've had digital clocks for years and never had this happen before. If another bar disappears I will probably replace... not with an Emerson product.
